Rename the team the Buckeyes after the Negro League team and change the colors to scarlet and gray. My t-shirt collection could do double duty.

Im very excited about this.

- No to the Buckeyes. And I wouldn’t be surprised if Ohio State would take legal issue and has some copywrites on it as a team name.

-I don’t know why, but I do love the Cleveland Spiders. Fuck it, let’s be weird. Just not many team names like that and it does have historical precedence to the earliest years of the team.

-definitely open to brand new name ideas, just don’t have any good ones to suggest myself.

I think going with a historical name would he great. My two personal favorites are Spiders and Forest Citys. Hell, go full soccer style and name them the Forest City Baseball Club.

Naming them the Buckeyes would be totally desperate and get them slaughtered in the media.

They should appropriate The Captains name and rename The Captains. Keep the colors and uniforms the same. The Cleveland Captains has a really good ring to it.

Commodores is my suggestion. Named after Commodore Perry and the battle of Lake Erie. It is historical, doesn't sound weak, and Feller joined the Navy mid career... Cleveland already has a beer and monument of him.

Captains - tie to Great Lakes

Commodores - tie to Great Lakes

Barons - tie to Cleveland Sports history

Spiders - tie to past team name

Satchels - honor Satchel Paige and the Negro Leagues with the name and an MLB initiative to create more fields and developmental pipeline in urban areas

Cure - ties to Cleveland Clinic, beat the curse, and satisfy the massive Goth/baseball crossover demographic
