these takes are gonna age like sour cream aging outside for the entire summer

Cleveland finally gets an upper echelon NFL coach and he’s hated anyway.

If you hate Stefanski I’ve got news for you. He’s going to be here for a loooooooooong time so I’d get used to him partners.
I’m not trying to run Stefanski out of town or anything like that, he’s the best coach we’ve had in 25 years and I want him to stick around for a long time.

But that doesn’t mean there aren’t areas of improvement, and the biggest one is something you yourself constantly harp on...making conservative decisions any time we have the lead. We saw that again today in the 3rd with that 4th and 1 punt at midfield.

The lack of play action in the 1st half was also a head scratcher.

Stefanski’s issues are so easily correctable and he’s clearly an intelligent guy, so that makes it even more frustrating to see these repeated issues come to bite us in the ass.

I changed my grade from an A to an F, which averages out to a C. Wanted to be realistic and avoid knee-jerking.

I mean, for fucks sake. How many weeks in a row is Stefanski going to have to say he needs to coach better before he just does?

We realistically could have beat LA, Pitt, and KC. 7-1 vs 4-4.

Love love Stef. But he done turned the game on that 4th down that he goes for all year long. Steelers immediately scored. He knew it while he was calling the punt too.
I'm still stunned by that decision. He let his emotions get the best of him with the previous failures on 4th down. Never thought I'd see Stefanski make a mistake like that.

I like Stefanski.

But if you don't think he is someone who needs to look into the mirror, and make some changes in the way he runs things, then I strongly disagree.

Team penalties ultimately fall on the coaching staff. Why are we the most penalized team in the league?

Not going for it on 4th and short at the 50? That was a loser decision.

I wasn't crazy about how KS called the plays in the first half when we had all those failed drives. Too predictable, not enough play action, doing nothing to get a rhythm established. It was like the Steelers knew what was coming.

This is a great point. Freddie got absolutely crucified (deservingly so) for his team committing so many penalties in 2019. I'm puzzled as to why Stefanski isn't catching any heat for this at all. The penalties have gotten completely out of control.

Who is saying that Stefanski should be fired? That's insane.

Posters are aggravated by some baffling play calling today and in recent weeks. Just because the team was horrific for so long, doesn't mean fans shouldn't vent, just because the Browns are no longer pathetic.

Hot take much? Fire the guy who led us to our first playoff victory in 30 years?

It sucks, we dont look good. We are up and down, but we are a .500 team which is better than all but 2 years since the return. Lets be realistic.

Technically, he was sitting in his basement during our playoff victory.

The post game comments are wearing thin as hell. He always takes accountability, but then nothing changes. Something needs to change. Not the head coach, but some things in his approach. It's hard to put my finger on it but KS seems to be too passive at times when he should be aggressive. He seems to be too predictable when he should be doing some things to cross up a defense that seems to know what we're going to do on the next down.

And, do we even run a counter play any more? Defenses sell out at the point of attack and leave the field wide open at times and we just run it up into the pile.

Yeah that call was atrocious and candidly, it was a scared call. I think the result of the last 4th and 1 played into his call which shouldn't happen and it hints at a scared call.

Also the sparse usage of Chubb on crucial drives is a mystery to me.

But he is a guy who clearly gets it. He makes mistakes, but they're mistakes we see every HC make. I like that the standards are high for Stefanski, but it's the "he's a bad coach" comments that are just... yikes.

Totally fair to criticize. But the posters saying they're done with him or that he is a bad coach... I mean that's going to age like boiled hummus

the thing that’s the most frustrating for me is we know when we fail that we’re going to fail.

Week in and week out, same things. You can’t call four great drives (two scoring and largely thr two fourth quarter) and then just proceed to not call EVERY possession like that.

It’s frustrating because I feel like we are trending back towards the same ol’ Browns. It’s a given that we are going to be the team that blinks and makes the catastrophic turnover, commits the devastating penalty, blows the coverage and surrenders the backbreaking score.

I feel like we have drastcially underachieved in almost every phase of the game and should still be 7-1 if we don’t shoot ourselves in the foot. Being good starts with making the other team beat you instead of beating yourself and I thought we were beyond that, but obviously we are not.
