The Last of Us Spoiler Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Based on a lot of reactions of video game fans to the attractiveness of Ellie in the show, I’m going to guess that there will be a very mixed reaction to the gayness of this episode.

Probably the same subset of people who turned on The Boys in season three once they finally figured out the show was making fun of people like them.

That was definitely the first thing I thought of during the first scene. Similar to the reactions from the second game. I thought they did a really good job with their deviations and though there was a scene from the game I would have loved to see play out on TV, the great thing is we have the option to watch the show and also play the game. Phenomenal acting by Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett. I'm glad it's giving me a new experience. I'm kind of surprised they aren't choosing to drag the storyline of the first game through multiple seasons, considering how well they're doing with the backstories so far.

One of the best episodes of any television show I’ve ever seen tonight.

HBO is knocking it out of the park. Phenomenal minor deviation from the game with Bill and Frank here.

Just gotta keep David and Dan away.

Yep, last night's episode destroyed me. Producers thought "Joel needs a car" and then proceeded to tell one of the best love stories that can be depicted in an hour of television.

The difference between how Bill and Frank's story plays out in the show as opposed to the game is jarring, to say the least.

Things end considerably less amicably between the two in the game, with Bill still alive when Joel and Ellie make contact.

Getting a car from Bill was always part of the story, though.

Regardless, there came a certain point last night where I was dreading them eventually making a turn to how the relationship ended in the game (and there were subtle references to it throughout the episode, particularly in Frank's dialogue), and was almost relieved when they went a different direction altogether.

Last night's episode has me morbidly excited to see how they handle Henry and Sam in Pittsburgh. That one was already gut wrenching in the game, but with a full hour+ to flesh out a story for them, I imagine it's going to hit even harder.

I just watched episode 3 and I thought it was one of the best episodes in television history. I wasn’t expecting Bill and Frank story like this but HBO did a phenomenal job. The acting by Bill and Frank were too notch. Bill especially and seeing how his life is and when he met Frank - the facial expressions were just phenomenal and you can tell the chemistry. That was all in one episode.

The piano scene, the dinner scene etc.

Well done.

Kinda lost interest after ep 1 even though I liked it. Need to catch back up.

I've rewatched eps 1 and 2 and will rewatch 3 before Sunday. I haven't looked forward to a show like this since GoT.
