Finally got around to finishing Dread. What a great game. Probably has the second best movement in the entire series (after Super). I felt the atmosphere left a little to be desired as it didn't have quite the horror feel of Fusion or the thrill of Super. Some of the EMMIs were really annoying (especially the 3rd) but otherwise the boss fights were reasonably challenging and quite fun.

Sometimes you learn the most basic shit that you should ahvek nown a long time ago.

Just learned HDMI cables can't go over a 60hz refresh rate. Switched to a DP cable.

My god. All of my games look so, so much better.

Good to know you're in 2016. Ultra High Speed HDMI or HDMI 2.1 is more than capable of 120hz but there's only a couple cards that support it.

That’s actually not true. Hdmi 2.0 cables you can get 1080 p 120 hz and 1440 p 120 hz out of it. Hdmi 2.1 cables allow 4K 120 hz. Both the series x and ps5 included hdmi cables that can do 4K 120 hz.

It matters more in PC gaming where there are very few cards capable of HDMI 2.1

I’ve given up buying the 30 series card. Hopefully I can actually buy the 40 series card at actual msrp when they decide to release those. Of course the “great value” of the 3080 ended up being a joke. People were willing to pay double msrp for it after everybody complained about how expensive the 20 series cards were.

Nvidia promptly releases the barely an upgrade ti series and stops producing 3080 altogether so they can increase msrp.

It's why I gave up on PC gaming. Not paying double retail to beat out miners plus everyone else. The hassle just isn't worth it for miniscule gains.

The new consoles are quite good this time and a lot of games actually have keyboard and mouse support.

I've got a Founders GeForce Now membership that I use to play most games. Saves me from having to upgrade my PC for now. Only downside is that not every game works on it because a lot of publishers are assholes.

I'll just look to get a PS5 sometime in the near future for the games that don't, though. Between GFN and a PS5 I should be able to play 90% of the games I'm interested in.

I've eventually got to find a series X but I'm in no rush to spend more money on a miniscule upgrade. And I'm still rocking a launch Xbox 1. Hell, Ive still gotta buy a cheap PS4 so I can play the last shitty star ocean and persona 5.

I've got a PS4. That's my only console at the moment. I do want to get a Switch at some point to play the latest Mario and Zelda games.

I do have a switch that was bought for my girls, but it got dropped a few too many times and the speakers don't work. Works fine hooked to a TV tho, so it became mine so I could play Pokemon and Ultimate Alliance 3.
