The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Am I the only one excited about Super Mario RPG remake? I mean it’s been 27 years. One of the best RPGs and with this likely to be a success, a sequel can be done in the future.

Still one of my favorite games of all time. It, Chrono Trigger, and FF5 hold special places in my heart from that era.

I was hoping they'd re-use the story from this to make a Mario movie...

This just means Geno or Mallow can now be in smash brothers with their updated character models.

Did anyone play the Socom series especially Socom 2?

It was one of the best online console multiplayers back in the days. I still remember [LiQ] who were one of the best clans and they knew what they were doing. Then you have 10 yr old kids screaming their lungs who haven’t passed puberty. Then those who talk crap in the lobby back and forth. One of my buddies in Socom is one of the assistant GMs out there in Sports. Some of these players who were really clever in these games have made themselves interesting careers.

Anyways, Socom - really enjoyed Crossroads as it was an equal map. But then sometimes I liked playing Sujo or Sandstorm as Seals. Ruins, Abandoned (s1), Desert Glory were fun ones too.
I would play it again if the same old people get to play it again online.

Well...the new Lord of the Rings MTG sets have pulled me back in...It's been probably 5-6 years since I last played MTG on a regular basis. I was never a competitive guy with it but more so I liked the process of making fun decks and playing with friends. Also casually started playing the online client (MTG Arena). A lot you can do on there without paying any actual money which is pretty cool. The client itself functions pretty well. No glitches for me yet. My LOTR Commander deck comes in the mail today. I got the Eowyn and Aragorn as commander set.

I havent touched MTGA since launch. How is the UI now? and the card pool?

No complaints from me. I redeemed a bunch of free codes (one of the top Google results) and got a bunch of stuff. I haven't had any mishaps with the UI. Frankly I don't know enough about the breadth of cards that are available but with the free stuff I was able to make a full LOTR themed deck on there too that I've been playing against people with.

I played a few years back when Ahmonket had just came out and I think they only had 2-3 sets out at the time. Glad to see its expanded

MTGA is rock solid. If competitive is your thing, you have all of Standard. Modern and Pioneer exist in limited version of themselves rebranded as "historic" and "explorer". My wife and I are pretty competitive Pioneer players and Arena was a big help in getting us into the competitive scene.

MtG is just such an incredible game. I've played a lot of TCGs and tabletop games and I think it's 2nd only to chess as a competitive outlet in that realm.

Not to mention the artwork is BEAUTIFUL. I bought that commander deck and spent an hour just looking at the art and reading the flavor text on the cards.

For sure, and I’m a sucker for foil cards.

Lots of people complain about the blatant monetization lately with multiple different art versions of the same card, but now that I have disposable income, I’m all over blinging out the decks and cards I like most lol.

It has been a wonderful hobby to revisit over the past year and share with my wife.

I am happy there is a relatively cheaper way to play MtG. I love the game, its so complex and the art is so great. But the cost of entry was always what kept me from really getting into it on a student salary. Same for Yu-Gi-Oh although that game has garbage balance

I highly recommend getting into an eternal format so your deck doesn't rotate and you don't have to spend much to keep up!

I mostly played draft thus a random collection of cards but this is good advice!

They fixed all the call of duty servers for online play. Bout to spend all weekend reliving my middle school years grinding world at war and MW2.
