Trade Deadline Tribe in or out??

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Why would you want an injury prone Griffey? I would be all for getting Dye.

Jermaine Dye is batting .222 with 11 homers and 35 RBIs.
Ken Griffey Jr. is batting .291 with 22 and 53 RBIs.
Jermain Dye's salary is 7,000,000
Ken Griffey Jr. salary is 8,446,647

Idk they both sound fine, but Dye isn't having that good of a season so far.

True, but who knows what his numbers would be like in this middle of this lineup with a fresh new start on the season... He just got off the DL, and is playing for nothing at the moment.. Thrust him into the middle of a pennant race, and I'd imagine his numbers would work their way up...

A 3-4-5 of Martinez-Hafner-Dye would not be too bad...

Id rather have Griff. It would work for many reasons as well. Dolan would get a player that has a huge name. It would bring fans into the seats. He would also be in the running for 600 HRs at some point this summer, which everybody would want to be a part of and that means even more fans.

Financially, as we all know Dolan thinks that way, Griff makes more sense.

I wouldn't mind at all to have either of the names i mentioned on our roster.Dye hit unbelievable last year. Now he is batting in the middle of I believe the worst hitting team in the majors.Put him in our lineup he would stride. If we brought in Dye or Griffey I wouldn't care.I would be happy with either.Griffey would be a better pickup, but if we want a power hitting right handed bat in the lineup then Dye would be the man.

Looks like they might be in:

The Red Sox, Indians and Tigers would like to acquire Astros reliever Brad Lidge. The Mets are among the teams interested in Roy Oswalt for the pennant stretch. If the Astros approached Oswalt and told him it would be better for the franchise's future to trade him, he told the Chronicle two weeks ago he would consider waiving his no-trade clause.

Lidge hasn't been the same that he was a few years ago and if the Indians can give up something of not a ton of value to get this guy and they can turn him around, watch out because the guy was lights out a few years ago..

They'd be smart to give it a run here - before Betancourt's right arm falls off from overuse.

Lidge hasn't been the same since...

I dont think that ball has landed yet...

Honestly that thing had to be like 550ft..I mean he vaporized that thing..

Meh..

I've hit at least 10 baseballs further than that half drunk...

That homer reminded me of wild thing Rick Vaughn when he gave up the home run to the guy from the yanks.

Update on Gagne:

The Indians are often associated with Rangers closer Eric Gagne, but you can eliminate them. They are content with Joe Borowski and want to augment their set-up crew. The Tigers work well with Scott Boras clients and need Gagne. Rival executives say Gagne's body has become so brittle that the Rangers should act quickly rather than risk getting nothing if the righty is hurt.
