Trade ideas: Offseason edition

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Why get a subpar return for Sexton while helping both GS and Portland? I really get annoyed with the rampant disrespect given Sexton on this board.
The #7 is a better return than any other non-crazy trade idea I've seen so far. Believe me, I despise the motherfucking Warriors to the point where it's unhealthy, but I'm not about to cut off my nose just to spite my face. Who do you think is getting the best of this trade suggestion, and how can it be tweaked using future draft picks to make it more equitable? If anything, I thought that GS could send another future pick to POR as I thought that the Blazers might not be getting enough back for Dame.

I actually like Sexton a lot and wish we could make the pieces fit. But if Sexland isn't gonna work, then unless we are all in on Collin, he won't be on our roster past next season. I would never advocate just taking whatever the best offer available is just to trade him, but while #7 in this draft might not be a full four quarters in return for our dollar, it's close enough where I would pull the trigger given our current situation.

Cleveland gets: Joe Harris

Brooklyn gets: Taurean Prince

Why?

Cleveland adds a 3 point specialist to their roster for cheap.

Brooklyn saves a massive amount of money in taxes.

Thoughts?

Cavs could do this trade and give Sacramento $10M in cap relief, which they could use to re-sign Holmes:

to CLE: Hield. Bagley, & #9 pick
to SAC: Nance, Prince, Wade, Dotson, & 2022 1st (lottery protected)

We can get a better return if we blow our entire load

You think that’s a bad return? I’m kinda perplexed by that…
Nance and a protected first for the 9 is too much. Hield has a horrible contract (about 30-40m overpaid over the life of the deal) and Bagley might be the worst "young" prospect in the league. Absolutely giving up way too much for Franz Wagner or Moody.

Would we say yes or no to this?
Cavs get- Simmons
Philly get- Love, Sexton, 2022 Lottery Protected & 2024 Unprotected First.

Potential 5 next year- Garland, Okoro, Simmons, Mobley & Allen (Yes big slow and not great shooters, defensively elite). Ideally I'd rather Jalen Green over Mobley in the draft for the shooting but all reports he won't be available. I'd love the look of Garland, Green, Okoro, Simmons & Allen.

That 2024 pick makes it a hard no for me. The 2022 pick was questionable.

This trade would work nicely:

to CLE: Wiggins. Looney, & #14 pick
to GS: Love, Cedi & 2022 2nd round pick (Washington)

why would GS accept cuz they get former All star Kevin Love who shoots 3’s better than Wiggins, passes well and overall fits better offensively on that team. Cedi can be a 3 & D wing for them. They give us the 14th pick cuz we’re taking on the extra 33mill year on Wiggins contract.
it works for us since Wiggins can defend the 2&3 positions and since he’s still you g can be flipped later. Looney experienced bench big. And with 14th pick might get a jalen Johnson type.

Not a chance. Simmons is too big of a risk to be giving up all those assets.

That’s not enough to get Philly to say yes. They’re asking for the world.

there's no way in hell that Golden State does that trade, let alone sending us the 14th pick to do it. Kevin Love is a negative asset, he isn't going to net us draft improvement positioning.

Daryl Morey must be out of his mind, with what he’s asking for a guy that, not only can’t shoot, but is afraid to and has proven to be a liability at the end of games. The Sixers have a real problem in that they view Simmons differently than the rest of the NBA.

Cleveland receives: Davis Bertans & 15th pick

Washington receives: Larry Nance Jr & Lamar Stevens (unguaranteed)

Why?

Cleveland gets a sniper from downtown & the 15th pick in this years draft.

Washington gets an experienced player with point forward skills.
