Trade ideas: Offseason edition

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Nance is more of a lose-now player in my opinion. Can’t be relied on to score anywhere on the floor, especially when teams ramp up defense in the playoffs. Can’t shoot well enough. Can’t take advantage when a little guy gets switched onto him. Too many liabilities with Nance to have a significant role on a team trying to contend. If we get any of the players being discussed in these trade ideas for Nance I’d be thrilled.
I'm not sure where you get the bolded from. Larry is and has been an efficient offensive player. He isn't going to need to be a guy putting up a ton of points, they are already loaded with guys who do that. He is active, both offensively and defensively. For us, he needed to be more aggressive offensively. I kept waiting to see him take more attempts and he didnt, but on a team like the Nets, they don't need him to take a lot of shots, he will get open looks, and he will clean up the boards leading to some baskets underneath.

also, last year there were rumors swirling that several playoff teams were willing to give up a first round pick for LNJ, but we didnt want to trade him. I think if LNJ were from anywhere other than Northeast Ohio, he would have been dealt. Now that they have an offseason to think about everything, I think we see the organization become more open to the idea. He isn't a difference maker for us, but for a team like the Nets, who have every piece to the puzzle but defensive help, its the missing link.

Can we please stop allowing the lie of “Cavs are negotiating from a position of weakness on Collin Sexton?”
The argument goes that because people know we are shopping him, we can’t demand that much.
If Sexton was slated to be released by the trade deadline, or would be bought out a-la Drummond, then this could be the case, but as long as there are two teams interested, the Cavs are in a normal negotiating position. They set the market.
In fact, given that they can let him play the year and then sign a qualifying offer to make him an RFA, the Cavs can afford to walk away from a deal.

I mentioned in another thread the possibility of being a third team to facilitate a potential Beal trade, but I'm wondering if we could do the same for a potential Lillard trade.

CLE out: Sexton
CLE in: 2021 #7, fillers

GSW out: 2021 #7, 2021 #14, Wiseman, Wiggins
GSW in: Lillard

POR out: Lillard, fillers
POR in: Sexton, Wiseman, Wiggins, 2021 #14

I'm not familiar enough with all of the players on the other rosters to determine who the appropriate filler(s) would be, but is something like this a possibility?

Bulls in - Kevin Love, Cedi Osman
Cavs in - Exclusive, franchised night clubs from Chicago

I don’t know this for certain, but I believe this is part of an attempt to trade up to #1 for Cade.
You think it could be an effort for the Cavs to draft one of the big PGs? Josh Giddey? Or maybe one of the wings?

Just my opinion, but I think if they go after a PG the guy to watch is Sharife Cooper. Jalen Johnson could be a wing to watch.

Sharife Cooper put up great numbers but would just continue our small backcourt problem IMO.

What gives you the feeling we'd look for a PG? Whether or not we move Collin, Darius is more than adequate at the point IMO. I really hope we're not trying to get another top ten pick just so we can use it to trade with Detroit. I'm hoping instead that we can get a top ten pick for Collin and use it to draft a legit 3&D, if one exists.

Koby is going for a lineup he can call The Lollipop Guild.
I think ideally they’d like to play Okoro at SG & move Sexton for a forward. That would alleviate the small backcourt issue. Cooper would be the backup PG. I’m not saying they’ll pick a PG though

Why get a subpar return for Sexton while helping both GS and Portland? I really get annoyed with the rampant disrespect given Sexton on this board.
