Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Tristan is a year older than Buddy Hield and has improved his game each of the past two seasons. I’d like to extend him if a mutually beneficial deal is on the table. He’s been nothing but an excellent Cavs during his near-decade in Cleveland.

I like what TT has given this season but we have also seen how he looks when he get worn down. He has alot of miles on his body because of the ironman approach he took to the regular season for years plus all the deep playoff runs.

Its easy for him to look in top shape this early in the season with the reduce games/minutes from last season and longer off-season. I don't think Koby should talk extension with him until after the new year. I'd want to see how he looks 30 to 40 games in.

I agree with this 100%. He's not an old guy. He has coaches that know how to use him. He and Love are just a wrecking crew on the boards.
The Bulls as a whole team has 32 rebounds. Tristan and Love together had 30. TT also continues to be a monster on the offensive glass.

He played like this last year, he just didn't have the coaches running the offense properly. He is good and is a good defender. Always was, but he wasn't a Gobert where he could make an impact when no one else was playing d.

Yep hope they don’t fall for it and try to resign him for something crazy. Try to trade him for something of value.

Not like their will be a bidding war over TT. I think like 4 teams have max cap. Not sure how many have a lot of space. So if he's getting MLE offers I would offer that for 2 or 3 years. Hes only 28 and has been a surprisingly decent leader for the kids.

Tristan played well last year when he was not hurt. I think they let him heal up longer than a normal season would (same with Love) which has brought him back healthy and in good shape. His Kardassian years are all forgettable, but when he is focused on basketball he earns his money.

I love the way TT has played so far this season. He is defending better than ever, and he is making an impact offensively as well. Having said that, it's "sell high" all the way for me. Nothing will change the fact that he is an undersized, somewhat offensively challenged center in this league. When push comes to shove he isn't going to take us to the promised land, hopefully he will be a great fit for a contender willing to give up a high level pick.

Coach Beilein was brought in here to develop young players. But his greatest effect so far seems to be on Tristan Thompson. My opinion on TT as a player before this season was, well, low. To say the least.

But this season he's a whole new player. Before this season, he couldn't score 20 points in consecutive games if his life depended on it.
Coach B is giving plenty of praise and encouragement to him. Maybe that's the first time that has happened in his career. Now TT seems to be becoming a leader as well.
It will be interesting to see how things play out with him this season. But for now, big props to TT and Coach Beilein.

I think this is very similar to Varejao's play and extension. We should learn from that and sell high on TT.

If the team wants to keep TT then I actually hope he comes back down to earth in terms of scoring. Where he is more the player from last year who is a good example and help our young guys thru screens/picks, rebounds, and good defense. That way his contract should be less risky and not hurt the team if he does get injured or worn down again.

Regardless of where he goes I'm pretty proud to have had Tristan for so long as a Cavalier. Guy is still beating teams with his effort.

Its more than effort, that 5 foot hook is an actual skilled offensive shot. He really does have some real offensive skills, great strength, athletic ability and yes, high effort.

THIS!!! That 5 foot forward hook he can shoot in milliseconds has become DEADLY!

Folks, I'll say it! Tristan Thompson is looking like an All Star!!!
