Did not look like a team that was playing for their collective lives. To me, that’s a big indictment on the coaching staff. If there is one guarantee, it’s that the team will make things unnecessarily difficult on themselves. Big mistakes in all 3 phases. It’s just the type of shit that happens every single week that really makes me question if this thing is heading in the right direction.

Clearly, Watson will get better and be easily the best QB we’ve seen in decades, but that didn’t guarantee wins in Houston. I don’t have faith in these guys, but we will see.

3 straight passes to Njoku for a TD on one drive was the Watson we came to see.
Swapping Watson for Brissett on 4th down for no reason at all.... not what we came to see.

That just makes us the Texans 2.0. If you don't draft well you won't sustain success. QB doesn't win games by themselves and Deshaun is only very good, he's not a prime Rodgers or Brady or Mahommes. Don't see this team ever being more than 10/11 wins and second round of playoffs.

I agree. Then give Chubb some carries so he can keep his stats alive and to keep the running attack well oiled, but keep the tread wear low. Pass to set up the run. Run when they're trying to defend the pass.

There is no credit earned from this season's results, either by the coaching staff or the front office. Both failed on several levels and it resulted in a season being flushed, where better organizations would have kept themselves in contention with Watson just coming back. We failed to have the right players on the interior of the defensive line. and maybe we should have had more insurance for the OL. We failed to instill discipline and a winning attitude and we beat ourselves more than other teams beat us. In my mind the root cause for that goes to the coaching and preparation.

Stefanski should have himself a top 3 or 4 offense next season with Watson, Berry needs to get the pieces in place. We need an overhaul of the defense and special teams coaching and we need to plug the talent gaps on defense.

This franchise is in "prove it" mode as they should be, because this season all they've proven is that there needs to be significant changes made at pretty high (coordinator) levels of the organization. Stefanski still has proven nothing in regards to his ability as a head coach. He and Berry have a lot of painful and difficult changes that they need to make.

There is about 2 dozen plays they could have called with Watson still in the game that would have worked. We shouldn't be dependent on trick plays that require Brissett to come off the bench as an accurate passer when we have a healthy Watson available.
