I used to go to Whataburger, Taco Cabana and Krystal Burger (White Castle) when I was in college. We all considered it “great drunk food,” and nobody I knew ever went there sober.
I think drunk food is universally considered sloppy, greasy, salty, fast and cheap.
Nobody hyped these places up as anything else so the expectations were low and we never went there at any other time. When you’re drunk, you’ll eat just about anything in the first place.
If I ever went to In n Out, I’d have expected a really good meal before reading this thread because of the hype it’s gotten. I feel like this is a classic example of quality not meeting the hype and misunderstanding of the role of the product.
Has quality gone down over the years or something?
