Andre Drummond - LeBron's Robin

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We have to be careful with buying anybody out due to the stretch rules. We don't want dead money polluting our cap space in future years.

As far as Drummond is concerned we were spoiled by TT who lived by the mantra "Be a star in your role." Drummond has shown no indication he thinks that way.

I don't understand the logic in buying him out.. he is done this year.. if any one wants him, he is a second round pick.. in the mean time we are more competitive with him than without.. Of I was going to buy out any player it would be Love..

I think there will be a real rental market for McGee.. Depends on who makes the playoffs, but I could see Dallas interested for example, or perhaps the Heat..
To get any draft pick compensation we’d need to take money back close to Drummond’s, and it’d likely be for multiple years.

With years remaining after this, Love isn’t taking any sort of reasonable buy out. Drummond might.

I’d guess Drummond getting bought out is more likely than a trade, and there’s no chance they extend him.

From a purely financial standpoint, it makes sense to get on the same page with Drummond right now.

He needs to raise his value before entering FA. That means sharing court time, proving he is coachable, playing defense.

Afterwards, I expect his money to end up the first year of a multiple year contract for both Allen and Sexton.

I’d rather hang on to him than buy him out and go to the Nets and fix their big man problem tbh

I'd love to see him on the Nets taking touches away from some of the most prolific offensive players in the history of the NBA
Classic Drummond. Forcing 3 of the top 10 scorers in history to ball watch. LOL!

It's just tough finding contracts that fit. I do think Charlotte and Toronto are the most likely teams.

What about Drummond for Lowry? He's old, but he could be the "chris paul" guy we are looking for to help the young guys.

otherwise it woudl basically be Rozier.

I imagine they Trade McGee instead maybe really soon.

I do not think it will be soon. Think McGee or Drummond will be moved at a deadline to a contender. Hard to say who a lot the contenders will be with covid

I don’t think anybody wants Drummond. Our best hope is that somebody will want his expiring money.

Well if Drummond is just giving it away, I will take his expiring money.

I'd rather my dick was 12 inches long? What is your point? I think McGee is much more tradeable. :chuckle:

I don't think you would. There are plenty of diminishing returns.
