Welcome to Cleveland, David Bell - WR - Purdue

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Waldman mentioned Hopkins as a best case scenario.

I didn’t think much of it, but Hopkins’ athletic testing was actually horrific as well.

Hasn’t made much difference for Nuk :chuckle:

Athleticism has a tendency to be overrated at the WR position. It's far more important at RB and TE. All things being equal, you'd obviously prefer the guy who runs a 4.3 to the guy who runs a 4.6, but we've seen plenty of guys without eye-popping athleticism testing numbers succeed at the NFL level. Antonio Brown is one of the greatest receivers in NFL history, but if you look at his testing numbers, they're not impressive at all. The only thing Brown tested above the 50th percentile in was agility score, where he was 59th percentile. His speed score was 17th percentile and his burst score was 4th.

None of this means that Bell will be good, of course. It just means that his shitty Combine doesn't definitively prove he can't be.

This was my guy all the way….

He is such a likeable and good kid. Followed his career. He chose Purdue to play with Rondale Moore, and while injuries and COVID didnt allow that to happen too often, he just went about his business and worked hard. He is a team player and easy to root for.

Also, that Bell chain was kind of tight right?
