Which player are you most excited about? Which will have the largest impact on winning?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Rubio and Pangos are more than capable of doing what Garland already does.
Not sure how serious you are with this point. Rubio is capable of knocking down threes at a respectable rate? Pangos is capable of averaging 17.4 ppg if he were to get the same playing time that Darius gets? And that's assuming that Darius is already a finished product.

His potential is his ticket to staying here
and Barnes/Kuminga types do not grow on trees like 6' guards do
It's like you don't want to give Darius his potential upside while you are perfectly ok betting on the upside of two guys who have never played in a NBA game that counted for anything. Unless you put a lot of stock into summer league performances.

True two-way wings are extremely tough to find, I agree with you there. But Garland is already more than your run-of-the-mill 6' guards that grow on trees. And I know you're a fan of Sexton -- I'd say the exact same thing about him.

I really like both OG and Bridges but neither one is going to be made available for a trade. It's simply too difficult to obtain those players. Once you have them, you're not voluntarily parting with them.
One of them still hasn't been extended by a team with a cheap owner and some really difficult financial decisions to make and could be a RFA next season. I know that we will very likely not have the cap space to offer Bridges to an offer sheet outright, but how big of a contract should we be willing to offer in a potential S&T? I think 4/100 might be enough to get it done. Dude would fit on this roster like a glove.

You have all of Orlando, OKC, and Memphis out there willing to plop down a max 4 year offer (with smaller starting points and raises) the moment F.A. starts. If you don't trade for him before the deadline, you can't get him. I don't think Bridges is objectively worth a max, but the Suns are going to pay him or lose him for nothing.

I don't know enough about those teams to know just how glaring their need for a 3&D wing is, but yes there will likely be a small handful of teams that can sign him to an offer sheet outright. I agree that he isn't quite a max player, and am curious to see if a team will offer it.

If indeed PHX decides they can't afford his market price, however, I still think they are in a good position to orchestrate a S&T, regardless of whether a team out there has enough cap space. If our roster can show enough promise this season that he could see us as a more desirable destination than those other teams, I'm sure PHX would be more than happy to facilitate that for him if it means they wouldn't be losing him for nothing.

Mikal Bridges at 5/125? Seems steep, but it all seems steep now.
I think they lock him up, though. in 2 years they can move CP3 as an expiring contract potentially as the 4th year isn't fully guaranteed. Gonna be some wallet pain in Phoenix for a bit with Ayton, Bridges, Booker and CP3 all under hefty deals.

Teams are way, way too afraid of letting young guys play out their rookie deals and test the market. They haven't adjusted to the new NBA where players ask for a trade after a couple years anyway. The only party that's truly obligated for 5 years is the team. Let your player sign a shorter deal and match.

After watching last season's spacing, this obsession with trading for non-shooters is borderline crazy. It really is. You're not going to remake the league. Teams will scout you and make a point to get back in transition. You have to be able to run a half court offense that isn't premised on driving into a crowded paint 80% of the time.

Right. I am because they have elite upsides and decent floors and are not a 6' guard.
It has to do with the incredibly difficult avenues of acquiring said types of players early on before they are
too expensive to get over anything else.
btw imo Garland has those stats because he plays.
Rubio is a far better floor general and Pangos is a better shooter so yeah Garland does things well and can maybe become a lot better, but I am leaning towards a little better before they pay him and then who knows but so often times passive players are the kind that once paid chill and disappear

Rubio has played 10 seasons and has a career .325 from 3 point range. Last year he shot worse than Cedi from 3 point range. Kevin Pangos has never played in the NBA and it remains to be seen if he can. If you want to reality bend, you should at least look up the players you're talking about.

If Garland does as he says he will and starts shooting more first of all his % will go down unless he really does prove to be a breakout candidate this season, and if he starts forcing defenders out of the paint taking those shots and can still hit them instead of wide open shots when defenders play him to pass then sure we can talk about how great he is. Until then he is a threat to pass which Rubio is already better at and Pangos is not some kid coming in fresh out of college. He is proven enough as a shooter and playmaker to easily be on par with Garland day 1 so looks like you needs to study up on the Cavs players yourself lol
