Jalen Williams was on a shitty ass team, and even so, he was very unselfish and played team basketball even though he could have scored more.

Achieving a 9 SRS on such team is an accomplishment and a testament to his team play.

He has the attributes and skillset to flourish on the offensive side of the ball in the NBA.

However, his defence is just not very good.

I'd welcome him with open arms, but be wary about his defence, especially at the point of attack and closing out(contesting and recovering) and his weak burst.

I think you meant wary, right? Tho you might get weary from watching his D...

I get that Ochai isn’t the most thrilling pick, but if we get an NBA level shooter
/spacer with a little size that sticks around the league for 10 years at 14, I’m not gonna be too bummed about it.

Thing is - I don’t think he’s really an elite shooter. You can get 38% C&S, reasonably good defensive players who have no ball skills in free agency whenever you want.

Drafts are unique opportunities to get guys who actually put you over the top.

He's not even a reasonably good defensive player. People look at his athleticism and think he's a good defender. But he was terribly average at Kansas on the defensive side of the ball.

I’m not quite sure 38% 3pt shooters who can defend are that easy to come by or we’d have one.

Instead we have Cedi Osman - a 36% 3PT shooter who can kind of pass - but that’s sort of the level that Ochai projects to.

1a. Branham
1b. Jalen Williams
1c. Agbaji

Age just sticks out to me. Branham just impacts the game, shooting 50% from the field/ 42% from 3, against good competition, and at only 19 (2-3 years younger than the other 2)

Maybe. You say they’re easy to come by, I’m not so sure they are. If Ochai isn’t a good shooter then of course he won’t be that successful.

Yep, I want one of these three . I will be disappointed if we pick someone not in my first three tiers.
Tier 1: Guys who have NO chance of falling to us (the big 4 and Murray)
Tier 2: Daniels and Mathurin (hardly any chance they fall to #14, but I'd draft them if they did)
Tier 3: J.Williams, Branham, Agbaji (all shooters. I prefer Williams because I think he can play SF)
Tier 4: Eason, Dieng
Tier 5: Sochan, J Davis, Duren, M. Williams, Sharpe (fine players, but don't fit the Cavs, since I'm content with Sexton/LeVert at SG and we don't really need PF/C. Having said that, I could see the value in having a big body to back up both Mobley and Allen, so Duren is intriguing.)

I foresee this nine-man rotation (ten if Rubio returns), with Wade and Stevens also getting some minutes.
PG: Garland, Sexton (until Rubio returns)
SG: Sexton, Levert, Okoro
SF: Markkanen, Levert, Okoro, Jalen Williams
PF: Mobley, Love, Markkanen
C: Allen, Mobley
