WWE/NXT/AEW/NJPW Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Would not be surprised at all. I do think they are setting up Rock vs Cody at SS.
Rock will be filming. I saw a video yesterday morning saying he won't be available because sometimes filming runs over. They wouldn't want to risk him not being available at their second biggest PLE

Regardless of filming, this 'final boss' thing is teasing a 1v1 match.

One of the best Raw episodes in recent memory tonight. Ended with The Rock turning Cody into a bloody mess.

All I know is that this really should not end in some "elaborate ruse” where Rock was always against Roman and then straight turns on him to cost him the belt.

Cody should just win the main event clean and then have a title defense again heel Rock.

There’s plenty of ways to get to Rock/Roman a year from now that don’t involve an immediate face turn at Mania by Rock.

Agrees, it would be a waste of the story they've done so far, especially after that attack last night.

Hunter is cooking up booker of the year material. PG is slowly turning into Attitude Era. The full transition will most likely be on Netflix.

The feuds have became more personal, more edgy, a vibe where they don't like one another, last night was cinema.

Ospreay v. Shibata and Swerve vs Takeshita were great matches. Getting Ospreay and Okada was nice, but Swerve and Takeshita showed how big they are for AEW going forward.

The rest of the show was another solid show. Young Bucks have turned me with their heel work so far. The Women's fatal four was good. All four got in some good work, looking forward to what they do as they get to Dynasty.

Lowest rated dynamite since the head to head with NXT. Beyond that, lowest rated episode since October 23rd, 2021.

The attendance was abysmal last night

Something’s gotta change.

Why? AEW fans love the booking. They should not change anything about the show even if it costs Tony money on the next television deal. He's a rich mark putting out televised indie wrestling to a national audience. Seems like a match made in heaven for the people that are still tuning in.

They will go out of business if they can’t draw crowds, pay big money for wrestlers and get low tv ratings (lower ad revenue). They still don’t have a new TV deal either. The last thing wrestling fans should want is AEW going out of business but Tony has them on a bad path right now.

Tony is under a lot of pressure to get much more money from the next TV deal as explained here https://slamwrestling.net/index.php/2023/12/12/aew-estimated-to-lose-34-million-in-2023/

Without it, they’ll never be profitable.

I know, I was being sarcastic :chuckle:

I should have used italics, my bad.

The CEO isn't doing a damn thing. I feel bad for her, her cheers are dead, they certainly aren't going wild. Edge and Christain were doing great work. Not sure what needs to be done to draw attention.
