Your 2019 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yep, that really blows. Really need Franmil and Puig to step up to replace that production along with Kipnis staying right around where he is now.

Does Freeman or Chang get the majority of the 3B at-bats the rest of the way? Freeman has been really good, but I'm not sure about playing him everyday.

I could definitely see a platoon at 3B with them.

Not being able to trade at the old August 31st deadline is really going to hurt this year.

Would it be completely reckless and insane to call up Nolan Jones for the stretch run? Steamer projections has him at a wRC+ of 84 which is higher than those of both Freeman (69) and Chang (64.)

There is something to be said for a team with bad luck like this one.

One top pitcher gets maimed by a comebacker and misses the majority of the year.

Another top pitcher got cancer and missed the majority of the year.

Their second best hitter spent most of the year fighting off a heinous timing issue and struggling, only to come back and break his hand.

Lindor’s calf hindering him early.

I mean, at some point you just have to realize this ain’t the year...

Yeah, dude was so unhappy here when he was chopping his finger off and not being able to give max potential in a WS run. So unhappy when he was putting up a Cy Young like performance just last season. Trevor Bauer is a phony and a least liked Indian candidate.

Not cool

Piling on is a douche bag move. Honestly, fuck you for this shit.

What do you want him to say, that he's not happy on his current team? Bauer's saying the right thing and you're still shitting on him for it. What the hell do you want?

Isn’t this pretty much the exact argument Hoynes used which became the rallying call of the team in 2016?

The guy could've said something better than what he did. Makes it sound like winning is so depressing and his life was a living hell as a Cleveland Indian. Who knows, maybe deep down he's super salty, because he was so unhappy.

"Overall, there's not a whole lot I miss about Cleveland" is the line that stood out to me.

Probably could've expressed more gratitude towards Cleveland while still coming off excited/happy about being in Cincy.

But, based on Tito's comments immediately after the trade, I think the feeling is mutual-- both sides are much happier.

So I mean, was his goodbye to the fans just a practical joke? Because it sure sounded like he loved it here

Bauer is just an emotional roller coaster and I’m happy he’s been putrid in Cincy. Hope he keeps it up and his Cy Young caliber season was a true flash in the pan

It should be there exact mindset this year too.

But that team had a playoff spot locked up before catastrophe struck. This one has a deficit, and no ticket into October.

Having to sustain such an attitude for longer is a bit worrisome...

I wish Trevor the best. He was incredibly productive for us throughout his tenure here, and was quite under-appreciated. I’ll continue to root for him as long as he’s not facing the Indians.

He'll always be one of my favorites.

I know comparing him to Maddux is blasphemy, but I'll always love the guys who aren't the best natural athletes, but are the smartest guys on the field. Hershiser fit the bill too.
