Your 2019 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Whether they make the playoffs or not this team has been fun to watch. Despite the injuries they've faced the Indians have battled and shown a will to win every outting. Hats off to Tito once again, I believe that bunting debate has now been cleared up.

Bunting is still (mostly) awful, but as I’ve said before, his positives far outweigh his negatives.

8.2 rWAR

32-18, 3.52 ERA, 414 IP, 429 K, 97 BB.

They have a combined WHIP of 1.13, which would rank 21st this year individually, and that’s 3 guys combined.

Again, ridiculous production from one draft, especially one with a higher rated prospect that hasn’t broken through yet in Nolan Jones.

9.7 rWAR

37-21, 3.48 ERA, 484 IP, 491 K, 112 BB.

WHIP still at 1.13, 9.13 K/9, 4.4 K:BB ratio.

Meanwhile other teams are starting guys who have been released multiple times in one season down the stretch while still in contention.

This group deserves way more attention than they’ve been getting nationally. If they were doing this in NY, Boston, or LA they would already have a “Baby Bombers” like nickname.

Having a blast watching this tribe team... battling every night and refusing to quit... would love to see them get in the playoffs and upset the mighty Yankees on the backs of their awesome pitching

Playoffs or no playoffs, we have a club that's probably going to win 95+ games, and I've enjoyed this season. If other teams manage to win more games, I can live with that.

If you give me 95 wins each year, I'm going to take it, no questions asked.

Going to win 95 games with their opening day #1 and #2 starters making 19 combined starts on the year, their #3 getting traded in the middle of the season, and their #4 missing 2 full months.

That happens to 95% of the league and you’re winning 75 games, not 95+.

95 wins would also represent the second highest total of the Francona era. Get it to 96 and it would be tied for the third highest win total in the last two decades (102 wins in '17, 97 in '99, 96 in '07).

I was just thinking the other day about how the Astros would be looking with Verlander, Cole, and Bregman.

He's clear cut manager of the year in my eyes. Not many could have gotten more out of this group. Not to say we don't have a lot of talent, but these injuries all year have been ridiculous.

Our FO staff could get executive of the year as well since they have done a great job of making sure this team could have a fighting chance as well. You cannot overcome the injuries without having a good FO either.

It feels like this team could have 10 more wins if all healthy, too.

Solid, solid post until you tried to nickname our pitching rotation, lol.

To be fair, he didn’t actually suggest anything. He just said if this were a major market, the media would have created one.
