Zydrunas Ilgauskus has signed with Miami (post #127)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This isnt insult to the cavs, the cavs insulted Z to attempt to keep LeBron happy, its ok in my book if Z does this.

I hope Z isn't put in a negative light in Cleveland.

To be honest, between the trade, and the DNP on the most games record day were both slaps in the face to him. Then we bring him back to have him ride the pine for the coup de grace.

However, the state of the Cavs for this year, we really couldn't and shouldn't have kept Z around, we need to grow some of the kids this year as we really don't have any title aspirations.

Sucks that it had to be Miami because of her.

The big thing on my mind is, I thought we were told she signed off on the deal to bring Jamison here? Why would Z go down to join her again? Maybe it was just hearsay.

I'm happy for Z, he deserves this. Now I wonder if he'll ever get a job as the Cavs' big man coach when he comes back. Considering how personally Gilbert seems to take these things and how much of a psycho he's portrayed himself as, I doubt it.

If starters playing 45 MPG is cruise control I guess.

I don't know if you've actually even been paying attention to what that team's been doing, but that squad is gonna be stacked to the brim with ring chasing role playing vets. You're either ignorant or have absolutely no idea how many players are gonna be flocking to that team. By the time the season starts that cHeat team is gonna have a ton of vets.

Not sure why people are so upset. Z has been a loyal soldier and if he had stayed he would mostly just get in the way of developing future talent.

This is surreal. I can't be mad at Z though, he can do whatever he wants. The Cavs did trade him away after all. It's not like he was the lynchpin of our team for the next decade.

They are 1 of 2 so far I wouldn't call that stacked. You must just be ignorant.

It's not like Jerry Stackhouse, Keyon Dooling, Jason Williams, Juwan Howard, Raja Bell have all expressed interest in the Heat or anything. Not to mention the fact that they've already got Mike Miller, Udonis Haslem, and Big Z ready to put on the red and black. Or the fact that guys like Brad Miller, Eddie House (who was once on the Heat), Kurt Thomas, TMac, AI, or even Shaq the cancer have all been interested taking less money to play on contenders.

If you're going to continue playing dumb then by all means please do so, it's rather funny to watch. I hate the Heat as much as anyone, but it doesn't mean I'm sticking my fingers in my ears and screaming, "I can't hear you" like you seem to be doing.

People don't seem to realize that Pat Riley (aka the earthly incarnation of Satan himself) just convinced the best player in the world, a former Finals MVP in his prime, and a top 3 PF in the league to join the Heat and take less money to do so. Convincing veterans to join one of the most talented trios in league history in a city like Miami with nice weather, beautiful women, fun nightlife, and no state tax is going to be easy as pie for him.

Underestimate this team from Hell at your own risk. I don't even like saying this, because that Miami fanbase doesn't even deserve a team like this. How do a bunch of dirty bandwagoners get a team like this, when loyal and incredible fanbases like Cleveland and Utah have never even been graced with a championship basketball team. Honestly, OKC, Portland, and even New York deserves a team like this before fucking Miami does.

Damn it's like LeBron is twisting the knife after sticking it into your hearts. Why is he doing this? I mean I know it's Z's decision, but recruiting away knowing the Cavs are left with a big questionmark?

Kinda reminds of when Shaq was traded (forced out) of LA in 2004, and many Laker fans were left with a questionmark as to where the franchise was going. Kobe was at his all time worst in terms of public opinion, with the pending rape case, Shaq and Phil fiasco, even the Karl Malone "hunting for little Mexican girls" cherade. The team was gutted and they hit the lottery that same year.

It's a crappy feeling and I'm sorry you guys have to go through this.

Just because they are names you know doesn't mean they can meaningfully contribute anymore. I mean I just don't think a bench full of Keyon Dooling's is something to be scared of.

god i hate the heat

but anyone thinking they wont win the title is crazy, they will win 70+ games on cruise control

Seriously man? The Bulls 95-96 Bulls are the only team in league history to win 70+ games. They had arguably the greatest player of All Time, one of the best defenders ever, one of the best rebounders in league history, and a bunch of great role players in Kerr, Kukoc, Longley, Harper, and more. Not to mention, they had possibly the greatest coach in NBA history who was great at managing egos. The cHeat have Spoelstra to mange three of the biggest egos in the league. If they can't get another C besides Z, that frontline is going to get torn up. Would you really want to trot out Z and Bosh defensively up against Gasol and Bynum? Neither one of those guys can guy Dwight Howard. They won't sniff 70 games. At least not this year.

Hah! We've had worse.

No seriously, Jose Mesa, 1997. We've had it a LOT worse.

It's just the way he's going about this. If he had put this much effort into recruiting for Cleveland, there may have been plenty of players who would have came to play for the Cavs. It's a questionmark because you'll never know, but he's obviously putting forth the effort now in Miami. I know they're still trying to build that team, but come on, look else where James. Just my opinion, considering he already tried to "recruit" Fisher away from us.
