Uh-oh, Pistons in trouble against the Raptors! They just can't find a way to stop scoring against this porous defense. Could a crippling win #25 come tonight?

Nice. Now if we could only figure out a way to get PHX some victories

Oddly enough, the Suns are playing better than their main "competitors" over the past 15 games:

Suns 3-12
Pistons 2-13
Cavs 2-13

Utah is looking good right now tonight.

If they hold on tonight that would be 5 in a row.

Not what we needed when LA was looking like they would easily pull off the 8th seed about 10 days ago.

Jazz play well at home (4 of the past 5 games were at home), and they beat the Blazers on the road (with Aldridge out). We'll see if Denver has enough to beat them at home on Weds. On the bright side, Utah has some more challenging games before the end of the year.

It won't matter much if the Lakers can't get their own act together, though.

They also have an eminently winnable home and home with Minnesota as the 2nd and 3rd last game of the season.

The other 2 road games are @GS and then @ Memphis on the last night of the year.

I am hoping Memphis is still playing for home court in the first round, because if they have that locked up it is conceivable they could be sitting guys.

I am crossing my fingers for LA but I wish they had an easy home and home with a scrub team like Minny the way Utah does in these last 7 games.

Lakers are at home, and Dallas is bad on the road. This is a big big game. Steve Nash is doubtful. So more Steve Blake.

It just dawned on me that L.A is really a game and a half back right now from Utah.

I keep forgetting about the tie-breaker, but Utah owns a 2-1 head to head win advantage.

If 2 teams are tied on the NBA site it says that is the first tiebreaker.

Since they will have ended up playing the same number of games, even if L.A beats Dallas tonight to tie up the 8th spot they are a game back in reality.

The way it stands now, if Utah finishes 4-3 it puts them at 43-39 on the year.

For L.A to get in the playoffs they would have to go 6-2 over their last 8 to get to 44-38 since they don't have the tie-breaker w/ Utah.

For a while I was convinced it was in the bag for L.A to sneak in, but really looking at it for the first time tonight the Lakers need alot to go right for them to make this happen.

The tie-breaker is the real problem right now because Utah just needs to finish with the same record as them so it gives them a built in 1 game lead in the standings.

I just can not see a Play off with out the names Kobe Bryant, Prince, Pau Gasol, Dwight Howard, and Steve Nash! Wait Is Prince Injured or done for the season? Anyways If big name players have anything to do with getting Into the play offs no one should worry.

Pretty sure Prince plays for the Blouses, not the Lakers.

So pretty much the Lakers need to go 6-2 in their final 8 to be a sure bet to get in. Kobe about to go crazy.

Depends on Utah.

If the Jazz go 2-5 the Lakers need to go 4-4.

If the Jazz go 3-4 the Lakers need to go 5-3.

If the Jazz go 4-3 the Lakers need to go 6-2.

If the Jazz go 5-2 the Lakers need to go 7-1.

If the Jazz go 6-1 the Lakers need to go 8-0.

Long story short even if the Jazz start pissing down their leg and go 2-5 the last 7 (unlikely) the Lakers are going to have to play at least .500 ball (and likely much better) the rest of the way to have a chance.

This would be so much easier if the Lakers, and not the Jazz, held the head to head tie breaker.
