The worst team in the league

so you really think they don't get their new stadium if they have a competitive team?

I mean I don't know what to tell you but that's exactly the case. Documentaries have been done on the whole situation and it ultimately had nothing to do with the fanbase.

Odd of me to say this as a fan, but I am actually hoping the Cavs will keep on losing. That will hopefully shut down any of Dan Gilbert's pipe dreams of making it as a fringe playoff team.

Rebuild the right way, as soon as possible. I will take a couple of years of suckage over half a decade of mediocrity any day of the week, because the key here is that sooner or later, a rebuild will be necessary. Getting Iggy or Monte Ellis or whoever is only a short term fix to a long term problem.

btw... talking about contraction right now is stupid. There are 4 or 5 teams way ahead up there on that list, even if this all isn't just a big bluff by Stern anyways.

I think it should be known that Seattle had terrible ownership and then that owner sold to a group from Oklahoma who promised to keep the team in Seattle.
It had nothing to do with starting a rebuilding project. It was due to bad ownership then in turn a group of liars as owners, and an out of date arena that lacked luxury suites and other more modern revenue steams. Seattle was still a good market but also one where voters got tired of funding expensive stadium projects.

As far as the Cavs the plus from tonight was better effort and energy. The lackluster effort and attitude of recent games wasn't there. Defense has been terrible but improved tonight mainly due to this increased effort.
I'll be more turned off if Cavs leadership goes for short term fixes in order to chase the bottom playoff spot in the coming seasons. That only leads to years and years of mediocre basketball with no serious success and no hope with rosters lacking the high quality talent taken high in the draft that you need. I'd much rather go through a major rebuild than have to go through that. I don't want a repeat of the last part of the Fratello era that then went into the Randy Wittman era. That was for me the most boring uninspiring hopeless period of Cavs basketball I've ever seen. Although the Ricky Davis/Darius Miles years had pathetic basketball I at least understood it was done to blow things up to create cap space and flexibility and acquire high draft picks. There was some hope for the future that would have been met much better if quality ownership and management was in place.

The team was at least competitive tonight. We have no bench though with both Boobie and Jamison in the starting lineup

What I love is that when we are bad the "Queen's" come out to support their boy. When we are competitive or win, they are nowhere to be found.

How the hell does a player stay in rhythm sitting out so long? I think this is a huge issue for the team. And I am convinced Byron wants a high pick.

Less convinced now? It looks like the 10-man rotation + 2 is history.

We'll have to see how things go with the small backcourt, but if they keep giving effort like tonight, the losing streak should be ending very soon.

"Excuse me fellas, which way to the Q?"

We are the only team in the league that divides the minutes up the way we do. We have one guy playing 30.1 minutes...everyone else is 27 and under.

Play 8 guys then.

Andy 32 JJ 16
JJ 16, Jamison 32
Parker 30 Graham 18
Boobie 35 Sessions 13
Mo 35 Sessions 13

These are professional athletes..30 to 35, very little difference here..in fact I would bet that they would want it..hell some of our starters exit 6 minutes into the game (no MATTER how well they are playing, in the Miami game JJ came out with some fire and played well only to sit anyway...he never regained the momentum he had when he came in 3 hours later...) to sit out the next 12 minutes in some cases!?!? How the hell does a player stay in rhythm sitting out so long? I think this is a huge issue for the team. And I am convinced Byron wants a high pick.

Byron must be reading RCF, I am mad he didn't mention Avon when talking about his lineup changes and his decision to finally let guys play some minutes....we didn't win this one, but we looked much better on D..if we keep that kind of D up, the shots will fall.

Yes, I am less convinced...now what took him so long to figure this thing out?

He was waiting on JJ, and now he is done with that.

I liked Manny Harris on Derrick Rose A LOT. He is super quick, and his length bothered Rose. I am glad he is playing D. He didn't make too many mistakes, and his 3 was huge. If we can put him on small penetrating point guards, then we could be in business. I wish he had been in there instead of Gibson last night. Rose was just Blowing by Mo over and over.

I am glad there was at least a close game last night and the team did not lay down and die like the last few. That being said I read an article that Coach Scott has not given up on this season and neither has the FO and they are going to try and pull off as many wins as possible. They have to say this to the press no casual fans wants to hear about lossing for the future of the team.

He's not done with JJ, he's just making JJ earn his minutes instead of just giving them to him. We'll see how JJ responds - we really things to click and for him and for him to have a break out season.

It is nice to see that we're finally starting our 4 best players, maybe even our 5 best. Keep doing that, have JJ come around, upgrade the SF spot and we'll have a solid playoff team.

Do we need to start a "Worst Record/Most Ping Pong Balls Watch" thread, or is it pretty much a given at this point?

On the bright side there, even if we don't win the lottery in that case, the worst we could do was 4th, and there appears to be at least 4 players in this draft that have the potential to be impact players pretty early in their careers.

Don't pat yourself on the back too hard :chuckles: You definitely weren't the first to come to the realization that our current starting line-up wasn't our best and we weren't using our best line-ups on the floor....

Regardless, if the team plays like they did against the Bulls last night for the rest of the year, even if they lose, that's something you have to be okay with. As long as the pathetic blowouts where the team quits halfway through the second quarter stop, then ultimately the results will be okay with me whether they be wins or losses.
