I think that says less about Mayock's trustworthiness and more about how little stock you should put into a pro day..
Yep. Pro days are like 40 yd dash times. They are a piece of information, important but not critical. Plenty of guys had great pro days/combines and failed or struggled in pros. Same as 40 times. Ask the Raiders how drafting on 40 times has worked out for them.
If the Browns staff sees a foundation with TB that they feel they can develop and work with... take him. Same as any other QB prospect. They are looking for some base skills (IQ, ball release, arm strength, mobility, etc.) and just as important they are looking to see if the prospect can learn, make adjustments, assimulate info rapidly, work hard, etc.
All that... I sure hope the front office makes the right pick. It's been a long, long time since Bernie or Sipe. Unbelievable long.
