Meh, I hope he is not out for the year. I think when Kyrie and Shump back he could be good in minimal minutes creating offense off the bench. Plus, he does provide nice depth as a 5th guard. As seen on his snapchat today:
.....and discuss
In terms of short term, though, I'm not too concerned. We've been statistically worse with him on the court. We were playing some of our best basketball when he was injured and Delly starting.
The big dilemma is Mo has never been good at creating three point shots. This season, the team is shooting 33% on 3s when he makes the attempted assist. This is compared with 44% for Delly, 43% for JR Smith, 39% for RJ and Kevin Love, 38% for Lebron, and, last year, 35% for Kyrie. Combine this with his 36% 3p% and it is abundant that Mo does not fit the "analytics" model offensive Point Guard. On one hand, his midrange abilities do open up the floor, but because his defense is so bad, Mo gives up whatever he creates on the following possession.
