Game Thread | Game #10 | Cavs @ Clippers | Nov. 7, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Cleveland sports got the trifecta for the year. Browns blow lead to Jets late, Guardians blow a 2-1 lead to the Yankees, now this...Does this seriously happen to other teams/cities this much
In fairness the guardians would have gotten stomped by the Astros and it was a pretty massive upset to even get it to 2-1

Usually when people talk about scrappy teams who play the game a different way it means less talented. That team was no exception. They “blew” a lead to a vastly superior team

Mobley was a -20 today. This has been an ongoing trend all season. Something is clearly not working in terms of the lineups for him to be consistently registering terrible +/-s every game compared to the rest of the starters.
Dude is a good defensive player but that's about it. I don't like his offensive game. Don't think a single one of his 26 points came outside the paint and most were probably assisted. He needs to develop a long range shot and figure out how to get himself easier shots instead of highly contested hooks and fadeaways.

I think the media and fans were too quick to crown him as the future best player on the team over Garland last year.

I’m more disturbed about the rotations than I am the players.

Okoro really shouldn’t play. He played way too many minutes this game for no reason.

Cedi curled to the basket and never played another minute.

Wade got crossed over, but made shots

Refs fucked the Cavs. 16-18FTs in the 4th is disturbing as hell when the Clippers wasn’t attacking like that.

Lue was one of the best coaches the Cavs ever had. I wish he would’ve had patience.
the reason Okoro played so many minutes is because he was the only one bothering PG on defense.
PG turned back into NyQuil P in those minutes. only to get a phantom foul in the last 30 or so seconds of the game.
that's probably why we didn't see much of Cedi tonight.

er go, the wing section of the Cavs needs a consolidation... somehow. Wade ideally should be the chief reserve.

that match up is bad. I gotta wonder why Donovan just didn't get the ball. Way he was shooting he would have iced it.

Waste of "not bad" Okoro minutes, excellent Mobley offensive minutes, Kevin Love firebomb minutes, Donovan stealth bomb minutes. Allen had 20 freakin' rebounds. tired of Allen getting hacked at the rim with no call though. Allen's even taken to the AD/Embiid/Siakam "Yell After Contact" and no dice

unlike the Celtics games this one went the other way (with an officiating assist).

The honeymoon is over, I bet Mitchell has some words with Garland in the locker room.
Garland going hero Ball is unexceptable.

Garland honestly needs to start being utilized as more of an off-ball threat down the stretch of games. This was a huge issue last year, where he takes terrible iso shots and turns it over a ton, especially as teams ramp up the physicality and trap him. The problem was after Rubio went down it's not like we had any other ballhandling options, so he kinda had to take on that role. But now there's no reason.

Mitchell and then Rubio when he returns should have the ball in those situations. And Garland should be sprinting around the court looking for catch and shoot opportunities. He just has not proven he can handle himself well in these late-game situations trying to run the offense. He goes for bad silencer attempt threes or he panics when he gets trapped or crowded by defenders.

This is not on JB. I placed this on the refs and Darius. Especially Darius. As the PG, your job is to stabilize the team. He went hero ball and turns the ball over too many times. He wants to be Steph so bad thayhe fails to realize he should be Chris Paul.
This! I'll take the DG before the Rubio injury over what we've been seeing lately. I want DG the PG back. I'm not trying to pile on him but i feel it's best for the team for him to be an actual point guard.

I really don't like the plus-minus stat, because it really doesn't tell the whole story.

They were not playing hero ball, they were playing tired legs ball and tried to run the clock down. All 5 of them on the floor. Put there and kept there by JBB. Unfortunately the Clippers were not having it, officiating indulged them, and it resulted in a perfect storm of bad basketball.

Had a feeling some of you wouldn’t be emotionally prepared to lose a game. 8 in a row and we blow one on the west coast. They’re young a shit - this will probably happen at least a few more times throughout the course of this season; and while jr doesn’t make it any less frustrating, that’s the reality. They’re young as fuck.

I will say letting them get easy looks at the cup throughout the entire night was ducking infuriating and the offense just collapsing and attempting no ball movement late was just baffling
Just a stupid way to lose a game - through a combination of getting lazy, making unforced errors and getting screwed. Would have been ok with it if the better team won.

Garland is fine, guys. Got a little too caught up in himself at the end. Generally, I like the aggressiveness and don't want that to change, he just needs to recognize the situation a bit better.

He's only 22 years old, he'll improve.

When it's happening every game, there's a problem. Either the Mobley/no Allen lineups aren't working. Or the Mobey/Allen lineups are doing poorly while the Allen/no Mobley lineups are carrying. It's JBB's job to figure out how to fix that and make the most sensible combinations.

36 minuted to Caris and 14 minutes to Dean makes no sense to me. LeVert had a pretty bad game. Some dumbass fouls at the end there.
LeVert makes me nervous every time he dribbles more than twice. He will have a good game and tease you a couple times, but no consistency. I hope they trade him.
