Game Thread | Game #11 | Cavs @ Kings | Nov. 9, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Tonight Garland played the Okoro role in this offense.

Last game Levert played it. Levert also played it the second Boston game when Garland had it going early.

We have a guy in Dean Wade who would actually really excel at it and is smart enough, a willing passer and a good enough shooter and rebounder off-ball to do what Okoro was unwilling to do in that role in the offense with the starters

But we keep asking one of our 3 playmaking perimeter guards to play that role each night instead

Find me a game when all three of Darius, Caris and Donovan started and all 3 had a positive +/-

(you cant do it)

They are 2-2 and in the two wins, one of the 3 always has a negative

While the best playmaker for our reserves each night is Kevin Love from the midpost. This is elementary. But we insist on forcing a square peg into a round hole. Just like TT at PF and just like Collin Sexton at SG.

Bring Levert off the bench and we win the Clippers game and this game going away.
That's not going to stop 18 turnovers and 130 points. Offense wasn't the issue. The team is talented enough to where anyone can pop off for 30.

The Kings just got screwed royally by the refs in the Warriors game.

This could have been a little retribution tonight.

So basically the Warriors and Clippers are gifted wins, the Kings break even, and we get fucked in the ass twice.

Glad you are paying attention. It doesn't mean the franchise can't overcome it, but home cooking has always been alive and well in sports

Ultimately I don’t know if it matters with JBB because he’ll find a way to fuck rotations up anyway. We can debate who’s better to start, but it seems pretty clear we’re 1-2 rotation players away regardless who starts. The Kings bench lit us up.

Mobley not taking a step up on offense as a creator has really hurt us. It's just so much responsibility on Mitchell's shoulders night in and night out to have to break down the defense nearly every offensive possession against a packed paint especially, considering we play two non-shooting bigs. He can't do this all year long without breaking down at some point.

Sorry if Im being a combination of abrasive and snarky but the last few games especially it just feels like some people think they're watching games 60-71 instead of games 1-11.

That doesn't mean. that factual or stat based critiques are invalid but I feel like context, timing, emotion, fear and expectation are getting injected with steroids and swirled up into a gory mess
It never doesn’t suck watching one’s team play like crap, while getting ass-jacked by the refs, at the same time. That will never ever be enjoyable.

I’m not saying DG should be benched but he played horribly this evening and the 4th quarter of the Clipper game. The dude got paid BIG $$$ and has literally and figuratively dropped the ball of late.

34 minutes and 1 for 9 from the field with 4 turnovers , 0 rebounds and suck ass defense doesn’t cut it, period.

JBB was terrible tonight. Zero mins for Neto with DG clearly not being right?! Hell, even okoro got 6 mins of burn. JBB deserves at least some of the blame

It's still the first month of real basketball. Get DG right and take the L. I'm good with it... but we deserve better calls. Embarrassing that LeVert got and ones all night, only two free throw attempts after all the hacking, and whistled for a lame tech when he complained about one-sided calls.

This. Exactly.

Much love Rch, but Garland had a bad game and I think it's his own fault. Not LeVert's. Not Bickerstaff's. Just Darius's fault... and I recognize that the smallest guy on the court is most likely going to play poorly when all the calls go against one color of jersey.

Garland played like shit

No contending that

But there's a pattern of one of the 3 always playing like shit when the other two have it going.

There's no contending that

It's not his fault that we're starting 3 ball dominant guards. And requiring one of them to be a 3-D guy standing in the corner and waiting for his turn to initiate after standing in the corner.

If you ask him to stand in the corner if Caris hits his first shot, he's going to force it. He looks like he looked when sharing the backcourt with Sexton again. But this time, there are two ball dominant guards on the floor starting with him instead.

Are the other 16 players in the NBA averaging 36+ mpg all also going to break down too or just Mitchell?
There's a big bucket of guys playing between 35-36 as well.

Was Garland out when we had that momentum in the fourth?

Only the refs are allowed to make the wrong decisions levert

DG was pure garbage tonight! And tonight proved my point why Mobley could never be an Alpha! He let Barnes take him right out of the game! That boy needs to put on major pounds!

The fear mongering in here is legendary
