15th Roster Spot?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It seems it will be Ray Allen as almost every sports new source is hinting he will be the guy. i don't like the idea of that thought. Unless we plan on trying to trade Haywoods contract for another big or if small we could sign a big. Or they could do nothing and sit on that spot for a while. Heck they way they are playing as of now they need to do nothing yet.

How do we make this a prerogative to get Bobby Brown? I'll be watching every little step on how we do this. This guy looks good so don't be cruel. With all this humping around, we should be able to land him and Dalembert right?

I would love to make both Bobby and Dalembert Cavs, but we only have room for one New Edition. IF a PG is what we want to fill the final spot with, then DG should use Mr Telephone Man to get ahold of Bobby. If not he needs to Cool it Now. He could be the final Roni we need to Rock Witcha to the finals.

If Kyrie gets hurt, obviously PG becomes a bigger priority.

Historically, this is NOT out of the realm of possibility in the least. If it does happen, all of a sudden we are desperate.

I'd be so happy if we got Mo back (I know its not realistic). Just imagining hearing the Godfather Waltz after each three gives me chills. That guy really lived and died Cavs.

Would Phoenix even consider a Haywood for tyler ennis swap?

It's hard to see any NBA team trading a 20 year old late 1st round draft pick for a contract.

Even with a log jam at PG, I don't see the upside for Phoenix.

They already have a handful of guys who need resigned and not really any bad contracts (to pair with Haywood in a future deal), so I'm not sure what their motivation would be.

If I were Griffin , I would not use the Haywood contract to get a backup PG.

I would sign one who is a FA ,like Robinson/Farmar or even Mr.Perogative Brown.

Keep that Haywood contract for the offseason.

Unless they believe Haywood's contract can net them a piece who can push them to contenders.... Anyways just a thought, especially with Griff's relationship with Phoenix...

You know who we need right now? ANDREW Bynum.

Cut James Jones, and sign him. James Jones is as useless as tits on a boarhog, at this point.
do not underestimate the importance of having smart and mature guys in the locker room who can teach the less experienced and bit immature guys some good habits. Even for a year, just so they can see what its all about.

Just look at the impact old man Ray Allen had on Lebron. Ray Allen is known for being the the ultimate professional(the way he takes care of his body and how he works on his craft etc) and Lebron has many times spoken about impact he had on him. One of the things Ray Allen is known for is that he shows up the the arena on game day 6 hours before tip off to work on his shot. The rest of the Miami Heat saw that and bunch of guys started following him to the arena.

These guys need some good culture in that locker room.

My guess is that the 15th roster spot is being held open symbolically for Ray Allen. If the Cavs trade Joe Harris and Haywood, they would have room to fill backup PG and backup C.

Again, here's another HELL NO to adding Allen. If we brought him in, he'd end up looking like Mike Miller and James Jones out there on the court. You think I'm joking but just you watch. He's not the same guy he used to be.

I actually think he is more explosive of a driver. Rather than being a D-value guy I think he is more of a C/C-. Nonetheless, I really don't think he is necessary.

Tend to agree with you here. It's difficult to see how Allen fits with Shumpert and Smith playing well. Shumpert and Smith could also be in Cavs long term plans. Allen is very close to LeBron, has championship experience, and would be an upgrade over where Harris is right now. The problem with Allen is role and fit.

We need more guys that can contribute on the court. Mike miller already serves that role for us. We have three veterans on this club that can't really be counted on to produce. That is a lot of space dedicated to good locker room extremely low production guys.
