2012 Draft Crush

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Michael Lombardi is a complete jack off. He clings on to grudges with the Browns and Raiders, and refuses to accept that maybe he wasn't as good of a personnel guy as he thinks he was. Which is why he's reporting and not working for a team. Anything he says regarding Cleveland is to be viewed with heavy scrutiny or outright dismissed altogether in my opinion.

I dont trust a word that comes from Lombardi. He is one of those guys that just dawg the Browns constently and always tries to put them down when given a chance. Draft wise I'll listen to Mike Mayock. I love his insight and I think he is the best when it comes to the draft, love watching the draft on the nfl network with him.

Lombardi is the same hack who said Haden was too slow to play corner.

He can fuck right off, IMO.

Evan Silva tweeted some Lombardi quotes from today (not sure which show he was on). Lombardi normally is very reliable i can only hope he's wrong this time, i don't like at all where this is heading...

Lombardi says RG3 isn't necessarily a fit for #Browns: "Cleveland wants to be an under-center team" w/Childress. Says Griffin needs shotgun.

Lombardi is a slapdick. Shurmur/Childress extensively coached McNabb who ran the option at Syracuse. Heckert drafted Colt McCoy who came from the spread offense. Heckert drafted Kevin Kolb who played in LITERALLY the same system as Griffin.

I mean really... if RGIII can fit into the offense we run now, who gives a shit what he ran in college? Our front office clearly doesn't.

like i said i hope he's wrong....i want RG 3 as bad as anyone

Lombardi on trades at top of draft: "Mike Shanahan & Jeff Fisher are very close. If there's trade to be made, it'll happen between those 2."

I have seen this quote from other "experts," but I am not sure how much I buy into it. They are going to make the best deal they can for their teams, not the best deal that helps out their buddy.

I do believe that someone will have to trade up to No. 2 to get Griffin. If the Browns think he's a franchise player, they'll make that trade. They just have more to offer than Washington and Miami.

What do you guys think about Juron Criner in the 2nd round?

seems like a good downfield threat...

And looking at our other options to make these comparisons? (This is what i see...)
Kendall Wright = Mike Wallace?
Mohammed Sanu = Hakeem Nicks?
Justin Blackmon = not-as-fast Brandon Marshall??
Juron Criner=??
Michael Floyd = Not-as-good Andre Johnson?? ( I really am not sure about him..)

Obviously im not a scout, no where near one.. but I like to put NFL names besides these players in comparison to play style and ability - whats your take?

I play fantasy football with my best and closest friends and they are easily the hardest people to trade with. They are constantly wanting more and are not shy about asking for it.

Remember when getting Amare in that trade was a lock because of Ferry and Kerr's relationship? Look how that turned out.

This thread is great but can you gurus fill me in on slime 2-5th round picks ? Any crushes that you think are undervalued? Guys that didn't get the pig enough but showed promise when the did; good defenders playing out of position; good defenders on bad defenses; etc.

Perhaps if there were two offers on the table and the difference was negligible, maybe friendship makes an impact. They're not going to make a trade based solely on being buddies though.

Justin Blackmon - Michael Crabtree
Michael Floyd - A slower Kenny Britt
Mohamad Sanu - Mo Mass
Kendall Wright - A taller Steve Smith (panthers)
Juron Criner - Andre Brown

I haven't been following the thread too closely, so forgive me if he has already been mentioned. But one player I would like to see us get in Rd. 2 or 3 is Boise State RB Doug Martin.

2011: 1,299 rushing yards, 16 TD; 25 receptions, 255 yards, 2 rec TD
2010: 1,260 yards, 12 TD; 28 receptions, 338 yards, 2 rec TD

He is a shorter RB (5'9"), but has good speed, quickness and receiving hands. I think he'd fit like a glove in our offense.

For crying out loud, Boise has been consistently good with the best of them for a handful of years, and although their conference schedule is meh, they do play some notables every year, and win often. It can't just be coaching - i.e. there must be talent on that team worth drafting...

I like Pead from Cinci, but really, I just want that type of player on the team, so bring on The Doug Martin!

Right there with you. If I had to pick a RB to throw on this team he'd be in the Ray Rice/Lesean McCoy mold. A smaller, quicker RB who is great at shooting through holes with their pure speed. I don't really care who it is, I like LaMichael James, but I'd be fine with Pead or Martin. Especially if we find a way to keep Hillis. Having this guy would keep Hillis rested until the late games in the season and would be a deadly combo. I can just picture having a guy using his speed to run all over a defense and then bringing in Hillis on 3rd and short or goalline situations to move the pile.
