2012 Draft Crush

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Heard that the Indy post was complete bull. Apparently, Alshon has been training in Florida for over a month and couldn't have been in Indy unless it was in early January.

And the article UDCleveland posted clearly states that he is in Tampa working out.

Funny how people are so quick to make jokes about Alshon and call me out over one tweet that appears to be bullshit.

Sorry, it wasn't that hard to believe. He has a history of conditioning problems and someone tweeted that he came in overweight and slow. It wasn't really that big of a stretch.

Not even sure why I bother with this shit anymore. That same person could have tweeted that Alshon was in Indy and ran a 4.3, and it either wouldn't have been posted on here or people would say "He is in shape now, but he will become a fatass again after getting his paycheck."

You can never win an argument on RCF. :chuckles:

It may very well be that some people are trying to hurt his draft stock so he falls. In that case, I heard he was 250lbs after a month of training, and that 4.88 is the best time he's posted yet and only because they put a box of ding dongs at the finish line.

Somebody even tweeted that Jeffrey's camp put that 4.88 information out so he can blow people away at the combine.

If that's true its the dumbest fucking thing i've ever heard... but either way, the moral of the story is don't trust random twitter posts. I'll wait to judge his fatness until the combine.

If it said he ran a 4.3 and was not fat I'd sure post it, he would be a very good pick at 22 if he is deemed worthy.

See your homer glasses are making you take this stuff way to personally. My point was that you can't blame people for thinking the guy was fat. Someone posted a tweet, I read it and believed it. If he had posted that Alshon was in great shape and ran a 4.3, I would have believed that too.

Would I still be worried about him getting fat after getting paid? Absolutely. Sure he's got a ton of talent and if he stays in shape he'd be a steal at 22. I'm just not sold on taking a risk on a guy who has a problem staying in shape at age 22 while playing collegiate football.

Pretty dumb, I agree. I do see a small value.. It brought up Alshon and was a report that could have easily been refuted since he probably has been seen in Tampa a lot.

Still though, a 4.88? I'd think he wouldn't get drafted with that.

If he runs like a 4.3-4.4 he'll jump into the top 15 just my opinion

If he runs a 4.3-4.4 then Kendall Wright will run a 4.1. As much as I loved Jeffery at the beginning of the season, he really struggles getting separation. I don't need a 40 time to tell me that, even his YouTube highlight catches are usually made with DBs draped all over him. While that makes him a valuable jump ball guy, he really doesn't fit what we need when we want to add speed to our offense. Unless he blows up the combine or he falls a crazy amount, I just don't see us taking him.

McShay is on RBS said we'll have to give up only a couple picks because there isn't so much guaranteed money to give up like the old CBA was

Griffin better passer than Vick coming out, durability is an issue

Blackmon is not as good as Julio Jones

Claiborne to Cleveland if we don't trade up for RG3 and someone else does and we go BPA

Projects Floyd at 22 for us, says running back like David Wilson or Lamar Miller is also possible

Intriguing QBs past Luck and Griffin but just potential of those guys Osweiler is underrated and Tannehill has most upside

doesn't think Flynn can play at elite level would do what he can to get Luck or Griffin in the draft if he's an GM

thinks we go for RGIII, thinks we are a talented team but need the impact player at QB.

shouldnt be a problem with QBs switching from shotgun offense to a WCO like Griffin could

fastest RB in class is Lamar Miller reminded of Chris Johnson

I agree that I'd love to get a fast receiver. We don't have an ounce of speed pretty much on our entire roster. I know I get shit for being a "homer" about Alshon, but to be honest, I'd rather have a blazing fast WR like Kendall Wright at 22nd than Alshon. I just want one fast play-maker. But if Alshon has a great combine and Kendall Wright is gone, I think he'd certainly have to be considered at 22. We can't afford to go this off-season without upgrading at WR.

If Broyles is there late, I'd take him. We need hands and he has them. Also, he's young enough to recover fully from his injury.
