2012 NBA Free Agents

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Doesn't matter what he deserves. Even if you believe he doesn't deserve it, he's a legit 7 footer, so he's going to get more than he deserves.

His scoring, rebounding (including offensive rebounding), blocks, and steals have improved each year he's been in the league.

He's improved his post moves & his face up game.

Also, he's yet to average 30 minutes per game for a season. Per 36, he's averaging 16 & 9 for his career and averaged 15.5 & 10.6 this past season.

He just averaged 11.7, 11.2, and 3.1 (blocks) in the postseason in 31 minutes per night.

He's going to get the Max, if not pretty damn close.

I am already on the books for raiding Hibbert, but we will not be alone. I would not be opposed to a heavy contract, as I think it is movable any road, but it really depends on the draft. If you wind up with Beal or MKG or Barnes for that matter, I think it makes a lot of sense. If you wind up with. t rob or Drummond it makes no sense.

We have talked about trading Andy for number seven, and swapping Portland 4 for 6 and 11. If we did that, we could easily wind up with Barnes, PJIII, and Jeremy Lamb. Sign Hibbert to that team as well, and it's Katie bar the door, IMHO.

More news about Mirza Teletovic, I almost cried because i am happy for read that Nets, Cavs, NYK and Suns are interested to sign him. He will be in summer league this year, where i hope he shows to Cavs that we should sign him. Damn i would be so happy if that happened. I think NYK dont have money to sign him, Suns are aging for Mirza, and Nets will just stay without D-Will, so Cavs makes perfect sense for Mirza.
Bosnian player in my favourite NBA team, that would be like dream come true. GO CAVS GO!!!

Giving Jefferson a max contract would be the same thing as offering Bargnani a max contract, which is just...

I guess this is the best thread for this. Who is this guy?

From Emiliano Carchia (covers international b-ball):

New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns and New Jersey Nets are the NBA teams interested in signing Bosnian PF Mirza Teletovic.

Max deal though? Hibbert's career high is 13 PPG. When the ratio of millions of dollars to points is worse than 1:1, it's never good.

Hibbert deserves a Varejao contract, not a max.

If you aren't high on Jefferson, that's fine. Keep in mind next year's Center Free Agent Class:

1) Dwight Howard
2) Al Jefferson
3) Andrew Bynum
4) Brook Lopez

Add in a crazy-heavy center draft next year, and it's foolish to hand out 9 figures to Roy Hibbert this summer.

Especially when we would be paying him about 35-40 million short of 9 figures. The max we can offer is something around 60-62million for 4 years.

How about saving our money for a run at James Harden next summer?

I definitely agree that Cavs should aim to maintain flexibility for big free agent pool in 2013. But it helps that they will have expiring contracts of Casspi/Gibson/Walton next summer (~13 million according to Hoopshype), so as long as they're responsible this summer and don't spend a ton, they have enough space to add/keep a couple of FAs this summer and still pursue a big free agent like Harden next summer. (Sorry if these points have already been made, I didn't look through all the posts on this thread)

I didn't see it, but how much money do we have to spend this summer?

We're at about $46m counting AV, Walton, Kyrie, Boobie, TT, Casspi and Baron Davis. We still have the option to not have BD's hold count, which would free up more room. With our picks, deciding to keep BD's hold, and filling out the roster ... we don't HAVE to spend a dime to meet the salary floor

Just heard that Gerald Wallace declined his option..big surprise LOL. Fucking failure by the Nets on that one..

Anyways, what do you guys think about throwing him an offer? I'd love it, especially if we draft Beal..
