2012 NFL Draft Rumor Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
As hard up we are at the QB position, outside of Luck and Griffin, I wouldn't take a QB in Round 1.

If we get leapfrogged, I think we should take Richardson. If we can trade down and still get him, outstanding. If not, we take Richardson and move on. I don't like Blackmon, he doesn't have elite height, bulk, hands, or speed yet he's a top 4 pick? I don't see it. I'd rather take my chances with a WR at 22 over Blackmon. CB is a luxury position for us so I don't see us going with Claiborne. If there was an elite pass rusher available, I'd go with that over everyone but I'm not sold on Coples at all and no one else seems good enough for #4.

Coples is growing on me, but I agree with you for the most part.

I just don't like guys who are super good one year super average the next. Enormous red flag for me, especially at the top of the draft.

I like size and athleticism.

Coples was a DT in his most productive season, and his most current season was at DE.

If they believe he's a freak athlete in the Mario Williams mold, I could be ok with it.

Remains to be seen. Right now I think he's better at LDE where we don't have an issue.

Not a fan of Coples. When I think of the perfect pass-rushing end for our scheme, I think of a guy in the Dwight Freeney mold- could be on the smallish side, but he's gotta have that incredible burst off the edge. Don't think Coples can give us that explosiveness, and our LDE spot is already locked down.

I think he is looking to get paid then will go back to his lazy ways that plagued him as a senior DE.

Say we do get leapfrogged, who do you guys want more, Blackmon or Claiborne?

Claiborne all day. He is just the better prospect, and we could always trade up to get one of floyd or Wright later in the first round or one will fall to us.

I dont want Coples, he's got attitude problems and so did Edwards and Winslow which is why they are no longer here

Hopefully Eric Mangini doesn't trade them.

Browns always try to go after players that have no attitude problems and look where that has gotten us. Justsayin

Attitudes are fine as long as they are managed. You can't always have choir boys. Edwards and Winslow got hurt and became less effective yet continued to be idiots. Great players have an edge to them. Some say it's cockiness and some call it attitude, but the great ones know when to turn it on and when to turn it off.

Foles is depending on how he looks when he throws.

Oswieler has the potential but he is a very raw and risky prospect

Keep in mind the 26, 27, 60 rule does a lot to help predict QB success.

Without the Wonderlic scores so far RG3, Luck, Foles, Moore pass. If Foles scores good on his wonderlic (28ish) and interviews well he should be a first round pick. He has the measurables you want.

Foles locks down his receivers. He doesnt make good reads and makes bad throws because of that. He has bad footwork.

Oswieler has poor accuracy throwing to moving targets. His offense plays screens 80%+. He can only make accurate throws to people standing still.

I dont know what you are liking about the 2 guys but I wouldnt take them any higher than 5th.

Braylon needed to go, definitely. I think Mangini jumped the gun trading Winslow though. He is a dumbass, but the man played his ass off. Eventually the Browns need to add some attutude on this team. Adding guys like Taylor, Sheard, and Little was a start. But the Browns have been soft as it gets since coming back in 99. Not saying we need to start signing thugs, but lets gets some friggin attitude on this. Someone like Burfict would be great. Get a player on this team that wants to hurt someone.
