2012 NFL Free Agency Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
For those who care, Broncos owner is on his way to Durham where Peyton Manning is training

I got a bit behind in this thread and starting skimming to catch up, but that seems pointless since a lot of the talk appears to be about the radio stations. :chuckles:

So in short, anything new since... say yesterday morning? I know Adams walked (w/o an offer) to Denver. I know Patterson signed. I know they signed Parker. Other than that... I (think) that is all I know.

I saw you make a point Smooth about my comment "I am worried that signing Claiborne & Haden will be hard down the road.. blah blah", and that signing Blackmon and Little could pose the same problem (or something like that). I don't think Little will be anywhere near the talent level that Haden or Claiborne will be, so I don't think that would be a problem. Also, I'm not really a fan of Blackmon at 4 either lol. The only player I would feel comfortable taking at 4 is Claiborne, and I don't know how I feel about it anymore. At this point, I think I'd be most comfortable trading down a little bit. Sucks, but whatever.

People don't want to take an RB at 4 yet will take another corner, even higher than we took the last one, at 4? hrmmm....

Looks like Manning might go to Denver...

In other news:

**BREAKING NFL NEWS**Source: Seahawks have offered FA (QB) Matt Flynn a contract (They are pushing hard trying 2get deal done today) #CLOSE

San Diego made some reasonably priced wide receiver signings in Royal and Meachem. Those guys couldn't help the Browns?

Actually, they probably wouldn't have helped us much. Royal and Meachem would probably be exactly like Massaquoi in our offense, especially with Colt at QB.

Anybody want this guy back? I would!

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/eye-on-football/17840351/report-raiders-to-cut-kamerion-wimbley

Only a year after the Raiders made a big-time investment in linebacker Kamerion Wimbley -- to the tune of a $48 million contract -- it's become clear that the two sides are going to part ways.

As NFL Network's Michael Lombardi reports in a move that will surprise very few, the Raiders will release Wimbley today and set him loose on the free agent market.

The Raiders tried to convince Wimbley to take a paycut, and while he said he would rearrange part of his deal to help with Oakland's salary cap issues, he also wasn't willing to give back his money.

If he's on the roster by Saturday, Wimbley will lock in $25.5 million of guaranteed money for the next three years. So, expect this move to become official very soon (maybe by the time you're done reading this post?).

Coming off a season in which he accumulated 63 tackles and seven tackles, Wimbley will draw immediate interest on the free agent market, particularly for those teams who want a less expensive version of Mario Williams

Oh dear God....it really wasn't a joke.

Oh dear God, fuckin' arrest me already.

Fits our defense and why wouldnt he wanna come back. Only reason he left was because Mangenius switched to a 3-4 defense

Um, no, that's NOT true.

For one, he left because he wanted way more money than the Browns wanted to pay him. Also, he was not a very good fit at linebacker in a 4-3.

He's a pass rushing specialist in a 4-3/3-4, and we really don't need ANOTHER one of those.

@MikeKlis: Broncos meeting with Peyton Manning, offering $60 million over 5 years.
