miles > broken ass miller
gee > old man miller

Miller is a far better shooter than either. And the gap with Gee is enormous.

The other possible reason for delaying signing Bynum is to have the option of trading Gee instead of releasing Miles.

Any possibility that the Cavs made a move (e.g. let's say they picked up Miles option) without announcing it publicly? Or would that mean they would be entirely out of the running?

It seems strange to wait on Bynum/Miller just to be able to trade Miles for a pick. Is he actually worth a pick of note? I admit I am down on Miles and even less impressed by Miller. I just want this to be over.

Miles contract is not fully guaranteed, there is no reason I know of for us to have guaranteed it. THe more I think about it, the more likely it is we try to move Gee and not Miles if we win the bid.

Or try to move Gee for something, then as a backup plan dump salary (Miles and whatever else it would take). I do think they could move Gee more easily than Miles, but I am getting even more worried about the Cavs defense with Miller taking anyone's minutes.

I do acknowledge that Miller might have some trade value during the season but I'm not a fan of this.

Miller would not be able to be traded until July 1, 2014 (amnesty rules per Coon).

Millier is a career .406 three point shooter which is 20th all time (right behind boobie and wally) and shot .417 from 3 (and .444 in the playoffs). Swapping Miller for Gee gives us much better spacing. If we can play elite defense with Damon Jones, I would think we can be okay with Miller. Neither Gee or Miller would start, Clark will be the starter.

They are likely pretty upset it leaked. Highest bid wins, so if another team wants him, they can bid $1 more than the most we could offer dumping Miles.

We could cut Quinn and Jones, but it would take both to cover even a league minimum bid. In theory we could release both, let them clear waivers, then sign one or both back for camp. The only risk their is if they are claimed off of waivers. I'm not sure it would be a bad thing if Quinn was claimed. In the case of going that option, delaying Bynum lets us wait until summer league is over to release them.
