Re: 2013 Mike Miller Thriller - Amnestied , Cavs interested ???

They are likely pretty upset it leaked. Highest bid wins, so if another team wants him, they can bid $1 more than the most we could offer dumping Miles.

We could cut Quinn and Jones, but it would take both to cover even a league minimum bid. In theory we could release both, let them clear waivers, then sign one or both back for camp. The only risk their is if they are claimed off of waivers. I'm not sure it would be a bad thing if Quinn was claimed. In the case of going that option, delaying Bynum lets us wait until summer league is over to release them.

That's true but..... The bids are private, no one see's them besides the league and your team.

Bad.

Well, I'll say good because I don't want Miller's smelly ass in Cleveland.

And that fuckin tattoo on his shoulder that looks like an amoeba or some shit...? I gave him hell about that thing when I sat courtside for Cavs Heat in Cleveland. That was the only heckling that actually elicited a response from him :chuckles:

You don't have to be a godly crafted athlete or do anything else besides shoot the ball to be a game changer. Miles doesn't do this, so why not? Why not get a guy who can win you a game from downtown?

Somewhat off-topic but why does the referee give Spoelstra a high five after the sixth Mike Miller three? (1:22 mark)

Is that normal?

You must be new to the NBA... No really all joking aside the NBA has become a joke In this fashion and the NBA or stern lets It happen Instead of doing something about this. If the high five wa when the gamed ended then No Problem but that just shows how favored the heat are. The Refs made the heat better than they were just to make LeBron look good for their band. The Refs and the heat are a low point for the modern NBA for sure and i hope rigged or not It changes and soon.

I believe the lowest bid would probably be $2 million, but don't hold me to it..

Woj:
Any team with salary-cap space can place a blind bid to claim the player, with the highest bid securing him. Teams can claim the player's full salary but must have available cap room or they can place a partial bid with their available cap space. For example, if Cleveland places a bid for $2 million on Miller – and it's the highest – the Cavaliers would be responsible for paying $2 million per season of the money left on Miller's contract. Miami would have to pay the rest.

The deadline for placing a waiver bid for Miller is 5 p.m. ET Thursday.
Souce

Just not a fan of bringing in Miller, who will likely have fusion surgery to repair bulging disks in his back. I understand Grant would like to acquire a piece like Miller, considering he's a great shooter who can thrive in an offensive system with a playmaking point guard, and potential a healthy All-Star center, but at the same time his health is a major concern.

If Miller comes cheap? Then I wouldn't care.. That's another low risk, high reward type deal for Grant, which he seemingly loves to do.

Re: 2013 Mike Miller Thriller - Amnestied , Cavs interested ???

Low risk, high reward. The Cavs could definitely use the spacing, but I'd also be fine with giving all of those minutes to Karasev and Felix. May as well get them some serious burn in a non championship contending season.

I'm missing the "high reward" part...it seems like at best he's a slight upgrade over Karasev and Miles for one season. No sane person could think he's a viable long-term solution at SF, right?

I didn't say anything about him being a long term viable option at SF. If he pans out, you got yourself a cheap SF/SG that is automatic from 3. I don't know about you, but I'd rather have Miller on the floor than Chuck Jumpers. At least he is willing to move the ball around, make good decisions, and give 100% effort, and for the #6 conspiracy theorists, they just brought in another guy that he's been close with for much of his career.

If not? Then you didn't lose all that much money, considering they would have had to cut a scrub to make room in the first place. I'd probably see this as more of a depth signing than anything.

Karasev brings that skillset (as well as the shooting), except he's a 20 year old rookie who actually could be a long-term solution at SF. Again, Miller is at best a slight improvement over Karasev for one season, and that advantage is largely negated by the fact that you're benching a high-upside rookie, potentially stunting his development.

And if James decides he's going to stick with his friends, he's staying in Miami. The only reason he comes back to Cleveland is if he thinks this is his best shot at a championship, and Miller isn't going to help toward that goal.

I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that additional depth on the wing is literally the last thing this team needs. If we do a minimum contract depth signing it better be at center, because we're pretty well stocked everywhere else.

Re: 2013 Mike Miller Thriller - Amnestied , Cavs interested ???

Please dont fucking do this.

Re: 2013 Mike Miller Thriller - Amnestied , Cavs interested ???

I'd be ok with signing Miller if we didn't have depth at the 3, but i'd say we're pretty much set at small forward with the exception of a clear cut starter, which Miller definitely is not.

I hope that bitch never comes here and will be confined to a wheelchair when he retires.
