2014-15 Off-Season Thread (Moss Acquired - Page 16)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Didn't see it posted but Shields to San Diego. SD spent a lot of money this off season and made big moves. Will be interesting to see how they perform with SF and LA in their division.

Spent an awful lot of money for an eventual third place finish.

Like that rotation, though.

Giants did lose power with Morse & Panda and didn't replace it. Giants have had let down seasons after winning the WS, seem like they are a every other year team. I can see the Padres taking second but it depends on their defense. As you mentioned in another post, with Upton and Kemp patrolling that monster OF, it will be interesting.

It kills me that the Padres of all teams got Shields. Interesting to see how it works out. However I see this up coming year as a very odd year. I can not be mad that the Indians went heavy and light. It seams the AL kind of had a odd shift as that no teams seem to have improved to any great extent. The NL will be fun to watch though as so many big name pitchers went over to there.

The Giants will always be good and make a run. The NL is a powerhouse this year in Pitching and the AL is a mix. I hate the Redsox for trying to buy a line up again but other than that I can say for once I think the Indians have a real chance this year.

Barry Zito is making a comeback and our beloved Indians are interested. I say Paul Byrd could be more effective, this organization can slap you in the face sometimes.

It would be on a minor league deal, don't get so butt hurt

Barry Zito is good.

In MLB 06: The Show.

I know im just griping but I can see it now Zito starting in the 5th spot for a month or 2. We can't get those losses back come September. Sure bring him in to teach at ST but nothing further.

Given that the rotation is Kluber, Carrasco, Floyd, Bauer, and then an open spot, I just cannot see how Zito would crack the rotation over Salazar, Tomlin, or even Marcum if he is healthy in camp. He'd be a solid depth signing I suppose, but people seem to be forgetting just how awful Zito has been in recent years.

Is there any fan base in baseball that has as many complaints about their team signing guys to no risk, non-guaranteed deals as Indians fans do?

Per Hoynsie, Tribe still pursuing Dayan Viciedo.....
