2015 Browns Mock Draft Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That fucker could fall to 19. Hopefully teams a few picks ahead of us don't start baiting the Browns now b/c of this and they fall for it.

There are some people who think he won't make it past the Bears now.

FARMER PRESS CONFERENCE:

--How he feels about Gregory compared to Gordon. Says they are different guys.

--Likes MM a lot. That is why he is where he is at the draft.

--A week out last year did not know he was going to make a move with Buffalo.

--NO ONE IS SAYING ANYTHING SUBSTANTIAL AT THE MOMENT (for this draft). A lot of those things happen when you are on the clock, in the moment.

--To get a guy like MM, what would it take to get up? We have our own version to move up. If everyone thinks you like something, your price goes up.

--What you see in MM as an NFL QB and what distinguishes him? He has been successful. Oregon had success with him at the helm. Can go more into other mechanics. How well did he play his position in college and how you can utilize his skill set to help you win

--Do you take into effect of ripple effect of taking MM there has to be an odd man out? Every decision brings a consequence to someone else. You come in to th eleague and you have friends, etc..but you come into the NFL to take that guy ahead of you job. Player "C" may end up being Player "A"....Driving competition

--Question about moving up to take MM..... "Sure, Why not?!" (again)

--Why not bring in MM? (same as we knew)...Had enough info. Had a good feel. Think we know who he is, what he is capable of.

--Hartline & Bowe. Looking to see if it impacts the draft? Doesn't impact it at all. Comes down to taking best player available, move forward, improve team. Feels good about position

--Changes in scouting staff, better job in background checks than this year than last year? You part of the background check? Nope, doesn't feel we missed it or didn't do it. Balance between what you know and what you expect and what u can change. Feels staff does good job. End of day you kind of have to believe what people tell you about the kids. Mercy at what people tell you. If you assume its risk, how much are you willing to take?

--What is the missing piece of D? He likes where we are at. Always unknowns. Drive competition. League is getting more specialized. DLine rotate. Very few guys that will play 95% at DL. Same as LB. Versatility of players. (CB-->Nickel Safety..LB-->DE, etc..) May need 2 quick guys, 2 long guys, 2 big guys..doesn't want to bottle up the roster, though.

--Willing to find anyone that pushes competition

--Trade Johnny to Phili..is that true? No bitch, it isn't true (how he sounded when he responded) Just said it wasn't true.

--Pressure when getting draft right, any urgency to nail these 1st 2 picks? Since last years didn't pan out as planned. Everyone wants guys to com ein and go right away. Sometimes guys come in and are great right awaay, sometime not. Had some stupid analogy about coffee slowly grinding.

--Support Johnny. Took steps needed to take. He said it best. He's gonna show, not talk.

--Take opportunity where given. If a WR is given and we think it will help, we will take him. He made it clear he isn't anti-WR.

--We do have analytics in our building. We it into consideration when making a decision.

--Johnny saying he is gonna "show not talk" has no impact on draft. Will make team better as best as he can.

--Doesn't know if Sam Bradford would sign a long term deal with CLE. "You'd have to ask Sam."

--Winston still in consideration? Not talking about our board. He warrants consideration at right time.

--Would you take a RB in 1st? "Sure, why not?" We will take a guy if the "price" is right.

My dream draft at this point would be Shelton at 12 and Ray at 19.
I'm pretty sure both will be gone by those picks.

Shelton is beginning to feel like that perfect fit, with elite talent that fills a major need on defense....only to get taken 1-2 spots before the Browns.

Spoken like a harden Browns fan

Dane Brugler's 2nd to last mock draft

12. Cleveland Browns -- Danny Shelton, NT, Washington: With DeVante Parker still on the board, this pick could come down to a two-gapping nose tackle like Shelton or the potential No. 1 receiver with Parker. I think Cleveland would lean Shelton.

19. Cleveland Browns (from Buffalo) -- La'el Collins, OT, LSU: The Browns need to add depth on the offensive line and Collins would give the team a long-term option at right tackle to replace Mitchell Schwartz, who is likely playing his final season in Cleveland this year.

43. Cleveland Browns -- Nelson Agholor, WR, USC: After spending both first round picks on trench players, Agholor is almost a no-brainer if he lasts to the No. 43 pick for Cleveland

I'd be really surprised if the Browns draft a RT in the first round. I have a hard time believing they view RT as a drastic need. Do they think it's an area of weakness? I would imagine so but I don't think they believe it warrants a high draft choice.

I also have a hard time believing that they give any guy who is a career RT a 1st round grade. From what I understand, there aren't any true NFL LTs in this class and if you are going to take a T high, you better do so with the intent on moving him to LT in a few years to replace Joe Thomas.

I'd also be shocked if Agholor lasts to 43.

Given the Browns needs, the only OL I'd draft in the first round is Brandon Scherff.

You don't draft for need

I'm confused as to what you're getting at. I think we're saying the same thing. I don't think OL is a need for the Browns very much at all, but I think Scherff would be the best player available at 12 and would pick him there if he was there.

I don't think Peat or Flowers or whatever RT du jour would be the best available player at 19 even though many mocks seem to be making that connection.

Mocks I've read say that Farmer wants to improve in the trenches out. My issue is that the pundits are looking at the wrong trench. Even if Schwartz is as good as gone next offseason (likely meaning his buddy Mack is gone too) that doesn't mean day one draft picks for the offensive line in 2015. It means day two or three offensive linemen who will develop into starters. The Browns were 32nd in the league against the run. There's the trench that needs help.

I read your post completely wrong....my mistake
