2015 Cleveland Browns Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
There you go.

Farmer believes there is enough talent on the team.

*If Haslam believes in Farmer then Pet will be axed for not getting enough out of the roster.* (My own thoughts)

Not going to lie, I didn't see the presser.

But via the quotes, that dude sounded like a guy who has not heard a damn thing about his future.

Remained very upbeat, positive about everything which is somewhat expected, but didn't really challenge anyone (including himself).

Came off a little defensive.

Dude was sweating (literally). He knows his seat is hot, but he seems to want to pin the failure on Pet not getting enough out of the roster rather than him not acquiring enough talent.

Imo, the blame lies somewhere in the middle, but I would be shocked if both stay around (both getting the ax or Farmer being retained [maybe with Peyton brought on as a "consultant"] seem the most likely possibilities to me).

just wanted to say thank god joe thomas didnt get traded. trading him accomplishes jack and shit. other than leaving a huge hole in offensive line

So did the majority here want the trade to go down?

That's as steep as you can ask. Of course I'd do that trade. I mean, he's valuable, but we've not been winning Super Bowls behind our great Left Tackle.

Giving him away for low value would have been really dumb.

Hopefully we get good value for Thomas this Summer

I don't think they were actively shopping him, just seeing if they can get great value.

He definitely still has a purpose here. Finding great left tackles doesn't happen every day.

Just glad the Browns were willing to send him away for piss poor value. I'm happy with how they handled him during trade talks.

Can't believe people want to trade the only useful offensive player we have for two draft picks. Our FO absolutely SUCKS at drafting.

If Farmer is still making picks, I want fewer choices, not more and I surely don't want draft picks at the expense of the only good veteran player the Browns have on offense.

I'd rather wait until draft day and use him as a trade package to move up for a QB. There's far more value in that than there is to get, at best, a late first and late second.

I really doubt that that deal is there in the summer. The Broncos are a desperate team that realize their window with Peyton is rapidly closing.

This is an absolutely brutal way of looking at team building. I know the popular opinion is that Farmer is a fool and terrible at drafting, but we're only half a season through one draft class and a season and a half through the other. Give these guys time to develop.

Also, the failures of past FOs and coaches should not be held against the current or future group. Building through the draft is how you build a solid team.

The draft is all we have. If the guys that are here can't get it done, then bring in people who can.

Seriously. I don't know how many times I have to say this. If draft picks are suddenly worthless to you because our FO can't draft, we might as well all just stop watching football. If your team cannot draft you will never, ever, EVER be good- Joe Thomas, or not.

Joe Thomas is no spring chicken, and he's making a boat load of money. There's logic to freeing up the cap on a terrible team, while also getting great value.

If the Browns are willing to give him away, then yeah, that's beyond stupid.

Teams high in the draft are probably not willing to take on his contract. Teams like the Broncos, that badly need a LT, and are trying to win it all are more likely.

I doubt his value sky rockets in the draft. His value is high when teams during the season lose a LT, and badly need one.
