2015 Draft Prospects

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
At least the second time they've talked to Cameron Artis-Payne.

Would be a good pickup.

I liked Coates throughout the college football season. He seemed to be too much to handle in every game I watched.

Danny Shelton has been linked to the Browns since midway through November, and I can see why. He plays a position of need aggressively but is very family-oriented off the field, oozes leadership qualities. He embodies the kind of players who take to living in Cleveland. I just about threw away hope that he was going to be there at 12. He is one of the players I could believe the Browns move up to target.

NT position isn’t viewed by Browns as one which said player is expected to be an every down player due to passing down CLE defensive scheme

We didn't want a NT in free agency because they didn't want to pay for one, apparently not thinking the position has enough value in their scheme.

To then use our best asset (12th pick) to draft a nose tackle that isn't really even a 3 down player apparently seems like a gross mis-use of assets.

Well, Birdy, there seem to be a number of journalists going against Adkins tweet right now.

The Browns seem to be fine with hanging onto Phil Taylor and his balloon of a contract, and he was originally drafted to play some DT. But still, I've also read that they will be fine with Ish Kitchen leaving if he gets a big enough contract. A successful 3-4 scheme has a traditional nose tackle playing about 70% of the plays because you need your big man to stay fresh. It's hard to slam into the teeth of the offensive line play after play and still remain disruptive. So, sorry Lane Adkins, I'm not a big believer in downplaying the nose tackle need. Especially with the run defense the biggest letdown of the 2014 season.

Plus, wasn't Lane the one who was touting that the Browns had interest in Dan Williams? Seems like conflicting info from that tweet..

I feel like Lane is saying something like what Keys said.. The stud NT plays about 70% of the plays.

Now, if the Browns are trying to correlate that with not paying for 100% of a player, then I'm worried... Having the NT playing 70% of the snaps is getting pretty much 100% out of a guy playing true NT.

Sounds like Cameron kind of played the Browns.

To quote Fat Albert, "that ain't cool, Rudy."

I know I wear Maize and Blue colored glasses, but if Funchess did improve his 40 to the 4.48-4.55 range as reported, I'd love to snag him up if one of the trio of top WRs don't fall to 12. Not at 12 though. At 19, I'd think about. With our 2nd rounder, I turn the card in as soon as we go on the clock.

Depends on what we do here in FA but we really need some big red zone targets.he wouldn't be the worst pick.

This is almost the opposite of what I read on some UM boards from people who have watched him every game. The sentiment was that he was worth a 3rd tops.

Some team will fall in love with his size, but with the questions on his positional fit, his hands, and his lack of physicality for a player his size, I'd rather not take the risk.

I watched all his games as well. Sadly though, I didn't get to watch all the other WR prospects outside of the top 3 prospects, so my opinion is somewhat favored with Funchess.

He is extremely raw, no doubt. He is prone to drops and he seemed to not grow as a player as one would expect. Being that no UM player really progressed outside of 1 season while their time there, I tend to think that the coaches were more of the problem for development and not the players.

I am not suggesting he's ranked right after the trio. He'd need coached up. I would still most certainly take someone like him with our 2nd rounder. I don't see him lasting til the 3rd round, or at least til our pick in the 3rd. I mentioned I'd think about him at 19, but that's mainly because I don't have an honest opinion on the other WRs.

No way I do it at 19, no freaking way,. The bust factor is way way to high. If farmer blows this first round, he is done as a GM. No need to take such a huge risk at 19. There is a 50 50 chance he is a hybrid TE (can't block) that can only play half the snaps or less. Would rather spend the second round on a pure tight end, and I want no part of him at either 12 or 19. Too many other talent players who dont have the question marks in rounds 1 and 2 to waste a selection on a project.

No need to reach at 19, none. We can't miss on 12 and 19, way too many holes in need of impact players for the next 5 years. we can't afford the "we could do worse outlook in this draft" The first three selections (unless we take a qb in round 2 who needs some time to sit at the start) need to be studs that help this team win games from Day 1. You can't preach building though the draft and then start taking unnecessary risks with your most valuable assets. Also, the possibility we might take Petty in round 2 makes it even more vital we hit on starters at 12 and 19.NT and pass rusher is fine with me, as long as we get a decent Wr or starting caliber TE in the first three to four rounds.

I agree with Boobie about the RB from Auburn. Good value for a mid to late draft pick.
