2015 MLB Draft Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't care what they do the rest of the draft, I'm already a fan of it. Guy will come in and be our 2 or 3 prospect right off the bat. Not many lefty starters come around with his kind of stuff. We also have to be one of the better medical researchers for the draft, so I feel comfortable that they expect him to recover from the TJ at 100%.

Again, when he's healthy, he might be the top prospect in all of baseball.

With the impending expiration of Lindor's prospect status, I think Aiken is already our top prospect, provided he signs.

I'm incredibly excited for this pick.

From ESPN....

Nobody knew where Aiken was going to land, and he finds a home earlier than most thought he would in Cleveland. The Tribe grabbed value pick after value pick in last year's draft, and they take a home run swing on Aiken here. He's the best prep lefty a lot of scouts have ever seen, with an advanced four-pitch mix that features dynamic, top-of-the-rotation stuff. The fiasco that transgressed with the Astros last year saw Aiken turn down $5 million just before the deadline, only to blow out his elbow and require Tommy John surgery this year, and rumors have swirled that it wasn't a run-of-the-mill surgery. Cleveland is either OK with Aiken's medicals or simply considered the upside too tantalizing to pass up.

An awesome pick. I haven't seen the Indians be this aggressive in a draft in recent years, and Aiken was the right prospect to choose that battle with.

Indians selected Triston McKenzie with the 42nd pick.

Big, projectable high school RHP from Florida.

Indians may have their hands full signing him, another Vandy commit they'll try to steal away (Sheffield LY).

Seems as though they're really going for helium in this draft, McKenzie can really turn into something special after he puts some weight on/gets older.

HUGE fan of the Aiken pick. Glad to see them going for the home run after taking some projectable guys as of late. Taking the most talented guy usually has a way of working itself out, especially with Tommy John being almost normal these days for power pitchers.

Triston is huge, but a total string bean. He's going to take years of strength and conditioning to get that strength. If they can sign him, which I'm kind of doubting right now, he could be a real horse. His delivery is buttery smooth.

Everyone is HIGHLY LIKELY to sign when they're selected in the 1st round. Indians know his $ tag....

Plus, they lose his slot bonus should he not sign. They'll get him signed.

Curt Schilling just pimped McKenzie pretty hard on Baseball Tonight, said he thinks he will be one of the top 2 players in this draft 3 years from now...

HOLY SHIT. I expected the Indians to take a beer league softball player with this pick and they take Juan Hillman instead. Jesus. HUGE upside.

WOW

This is such an anti-Indians draft, it's hard to believe.

The upside on these three arms is ridiculous.

Another young guy with a great delivery *Aiken has a beautiful delivery, which is why it's shocking he had TJS*

Don't know much about him, but lots of scouting reports say he's already got 3 Plus pitches. Good sign.
