2015 NFL Draft Thread - April 30 - May 2 - Chicago, IL

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If the Browns trade a first round pick in any future years, they got absolutely taken.

12 and 19 only or they can fuck themselves.
This.

Not interested in moving future picks for a guy you don't know can be the answer. He definitely could, but this isn't Andrew Luck.

12 and 19.. OK, I'm gonna go along with it.. But I'd rather use those picks elsewhere.

Any chance that they are actually trying to move up to get Leonard Williams?

That would be the kind of crazy Browns move they always make.

There's a fine line between "making an offer" and kicking the tires - and I'm sure the Browns called the Titans and threw some shit at the wall.

I'd be surprised if the Browns hadn't put in calls to every team in the Top 10 by now. It's necessity.

I'd imagine the Browns have called every team in the top ten, probably every team in the 13-18 range, and every team in the 20-28 range as well.

It's what they all do.

Even after all the past blunders, I'm still in the camp willing to overpay for a QB.

We have a nice collection of young talent. The likelihood we land a franchise QB without a trade is fairly slim because we're now caught in a spot where it's unlikely we'll pick in the top 3-4 anytime soon.

We're coming off a season where our QB play was utterly atrocious and we won 7 games. We also have (2) 1sts, which is tougher to come by down the road. The year to overpay is this one. If you believe in Mariotta, you just go get him. Missing out on "your guy" when you have absolutely no answer at the position, in an effort to extract value, is dumb IMO.

I'm sure some people disagree with that but we're unfortunately in a position where we have the most assets AND are the most desperate team. That's not a secret to anyone in these discussions.

On the brightside, if we move up to #2, I won't have to sit through the next 7 hours of the 1st round.

ESPN is doing a draft simulation.

Titans are on the clock.

The Browns "called and offered" 12 and 19.

The talking heads countered with 12, 43 and a 2016 first.

The Browns declined in the simulation.

McShay, Wingo, and Phil Savage are doing the draft simulation. Plus some other guy I don't know. Looks like it is Mark Dominik.

It's kind of amazing to see how much time these guys actually have to go through everything option and discuss trades in a fairly calm manner.

It sure doesn't feel like 10 mins is that long when you are watching as a fan.

I don't do a future first. With this schedule the Browns will be picking top 5 next year. Even if they land Mariotta, McCown should be your starter for at least half the season. Preferably the whole time.

What is wrong with this organization.

Every year, they need to out do themselves, and do something even more asinine than the year before.

I am sorry, Mariota is not the kind of QB you trade multiple first round picks for.

This is just a desperate organization willing to make desperate moves.

None of this is true and hilariously false, IMO.

Mariota is the guy you DREAM about being able to get. Big, fast, strong arm, accurate, works hard...

Every year the fans get themselves all worked up over rumors created by ESPN, too.

So I'd worry more about that for the time being.
