2016 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Goff has a chance to be very good if given a solid pass blocking o line and a decent o coordinator early in his career. I just hope we finish with a higher pick then San Fran. If there is a football god we will see Goff to Gordon, Benjamin, Barnidge, Duke, and another solid rookie WR in rounds 2-3. That is something to get excited about if it were to actually happen!

He has to get rid of the ball quicker then he wants at Cal due to a subpar o line. Seeing this guy with Good wrs at the nfl level is going to be a treat.
Please let it be in Cleveland!

I like Paxton Lynch too, but he has a much longer way to go imo compared to Goff.

You can never have too many first round linemen. ever

Except when you have 3 (well two 1sts and a 2nd, not counting the first rounder who isnt playing) and your line still sucks. :chuckle:

Then it's just a lost cause.

Don't be so quick to give up. That merely means we need more! 5 first rounders on the line with a second round utility lineman and there is no reason we can't have 90 yards on the ground per game.

Latest from CBS/NFLDraftScout

3. Cleveland Browns - Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis: The Browns' annual top 10 selection is likely to continue until a franchise quarterback is found. Lynch is flying up draft boards lately as scouts are enamored with his combination of size (listed at 6-foot-7, 230 pounds), mobility and arm talent. He's made steady progress throughout his career and may be just scratching the surface of his potential.

Lynch ahead of Goff (5) and Cook (10).

Just so that everyone is clear on this, San Francisco will be taking Goff if they have a worse record. Kaepernick is getting cut and should be benched from this point on: "I’m not going to get into all that (Kaepernick benched) today," Tomsula said. "I’ll get into that after we’ve had the opportunity to watch the tape."

At this point I'd be shocked if the 49ers win another game as well, Gabbert is going to be just as bad.

Nice cheeky comment. The annual top 10 selection streak of a whole 0 years.

I get what he is saying, but he can eat a pile of rocks we fought our way out of the top 10 just last year and hacky McHackerson refuses to acknowledge it.

Mark December 13th on your schedule.

It's going to be a tank-off.

This may mean absolutely nothing but it's noteworthy at least.

Here are the list of QBs to play in the NFL since 1920 that were 6'7 or taller

6'7
Mike Glennon
Brock Osweiler
Andrew Gardner
Sonny Gibbs
Frank Patrick
Garrett Reynolds

6'8
Dan McGwire (Yes Mark's brother)
David Foucault

McGwire was the 16th pick in the draft in 1991 and was out of the league after 1995
Sonny Gibbs was 18th overall (2nd round) in 1964 he played 1 season
Osweiler was a 2nd rounder (57th overall)
Glennon was a 3rd (73rd overall)

Again, not saying it means anything for Lynch but 6'7 and taller QBs have a bad track record.

This might have something to do with it; dude can't see wide open receivers:

If Kaep plays I think San Fran wins, Kaep's strategy of run first ask questions later would actually work on us

Edit: Even if the benching does happen, I don't think Gabbert is gonna last very long behind that O-line, not with him being the statue he is. Kaep will probably be back before this is over either way

Takes too long to stand back up after getting the ball from under center and every ball he throws to Browns receiver corp is on a downward slant do not want

Lynch isn't really 6'7, so it will probably work out.
