A closer look at Harrison Barnes

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm starting to warm up to the thought of taking Barnes a little. If MKG and Beal are off the board, Barnes would be fine with me.

That quote does absolutely nothing for me. I'm really not sure why you posted it.

And K2I, why does Beal factor in to the decision at all? There is a good chance he will be available, and I presume an equal chance of him not being selected. Lol sorry, but I just get so sick of everyone saying "I'd be fine with ________ if MKG and Beal are gone."

Not sure what you're asking. Why does Beal factor into the decision? Because he is (IMO) a much better prospect, and I'd really hope we'd take him if he was still on the board.

The draft process brings out the downers in us all. Regardless of who we pick, we should get a player who is leaps and bounds better than some of the other rabble which was on our roster.

Maximizing the upside of each players talent is where we need to focus. To me Harrison Barnes has some very positive qualities in which i love for this team. (a mid-range jumper amongst them) Ball-handling is such a small worry because that is beyond fixable as Manny Harris showed from season 1 to season 2. The player at 4 we get is going to help this team....perhaps not to the level as Cavs fans we might love (Irving or Lebron) but it will improve us.

The draft cannot come soon enough! :)

The 2 mouthpieces on ESPNU Draft Combine talking about how Barnes might have peaked already.

Unfortunately, I honestly do not believe Barnes is an incredible upgrade over Alonzo Gee. I hope for our sake, if we take him, I'm wrong. Trust me, I wish I was in love with the prospect of Barnes joining this team, but I can't lie to myself just for the sake of being optimistic.

He is the one prospect in our range that I absolutely want nothing to do with. MKG, Beal, Lamb, Drummond, PJ3, Robinson, Terrence Ross... I'd be totally content with any of these guys. Barnes is the one prospect I want nothing to do with (and Rivers, but he isn't in our range).

How did no reporter ask him during his Q&A at the combine about his focus on his "brand" (the "Black Falcon", etc.)?

The more I think about barnes or MKG at 4 depending on what the bobcats do the more I like the idea.

God is barnes huge and i know KI could help make him special.

What if we do just sit at 4?

Our options are so much more open.

It seems like we had interest in barnes before and with his good measurements maybe that will grow!

Maybe we take on a bad contract and get the 10th pick while getting Barnes and end up with 3 picks in the first round?

I am not sure what it might take to get that 10th pick though.

But as far as barnes goes i would be happy with his selection as much as Beal or MKG

Cavs Notes: Kidd-Gilchrist, Fournier, Melo, Leonard

The Cavs hold picks No. 4 and No. 24, but unlike other teams with two first-round draft choices, they aren't looking to trade one of them. The team seems to be zeroing in on Harrison Barnes with the fourth pick, but Mary Schmitt Boyer of the Plain Dealer says a scenario is in play that could have them leaving Barnes on the board.

Yeah, if MKG is still on the board, we'd take him.
