Andrew Wiggins

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Seriously fuck the Cavs. They couldn't be possibly handled the situation any worse. At least tell the kid early on you're trading him. They've been playing games with Wiggins and the fans since draft day.
"We didn't draft him to trade him."
"Wiggins is not on the table."
And then rumors surface they want to trade him and they've been prolonging this mess. Wiggins won't be a Cavalier next month. Everyone knows that and the Cavs have known that for a while. It's simply disgusting what they've done to this 19 year old kid, millionaire or not.

It's simple. They can't say under the current CBA until the 30 days after he signs his rookie deal.

How do you know he wasn't told? Just because he's not saying as much? I find it laughable that a lot of people act like they know every little detail or what's going on behind closed doors. The Cavs are woking on a deal with Minny. Everybody knows that. Everybody also knows it likely includes Wiggins.

Anyone who thinks we fans on RCF knew about the trade before Wiggins is an absolute moron.

Cavs would not have been able to do the Utah trade if wiggins was signed earlier.

I meant with him having to go through all of this if we had signed him on the first day possible. That he still would have had to go through this stuff.

I can't believe they're actually trading him.

Stolen from elsewhere:

The Cavs can win right now with LeBron.

It would be foolish of Cleveland to skip Love, who's a sure thing, in the hopes of Wiggins panning out in a few years.

I dont know why so many people don't get this.

wow that ESPN guy was such a douchbag. WTF kind of questions are those. Awkward as fuck

edit: don't post autoplay videos

We're going to regret trading this guy.

I don't think that the cavs are specifically doing anything scummy, but it does leave a bad taste in my mouth. Trading players like they are property instead of people is one of the big reasons that I struggle to really get invested in pro sports. Just never feels right.

I feel badly for the kid, too, even with millions in the bank and hot girlfriend. Why does human feeling and compassion have to be means-tested?

That said, none of this is the Cavs fault, anyone saying that is just...silly (but I feel compassion for your stupidity :chuckles:).

Most of it is just the quirks of how the NBA system is set up, salary system, trade rules, etc. It's the system in general, not a specific entity within it.

To the extent it is anyone's fault, far more blame goes to Minny. They've been leaking and manipulating in the media around Wiggins. They're also the ones who chose to make him their trade focal point and won't take anyone else. And also the crappy franchise that Love wants out of in the first place.

Finally, if you want to blame someone for this specific interview/humiliation, you need to blame Wiggins himself and his agent. Agent should've nixed it. But ultimately Wiggins is a man, responsible for his own decisions, he also could've declined to go on the air, even if his agent (wrongly) thought it was a good idea.

Can't blame the Cavs for other people's decisions.

People are acting like he been playing for us his whole career, He's has play not one regular season game...If Lebron was not on this team I'm sure he wouldn't care...Just saying
