you need some HD cables for ps2.. you can find them on ebay or whatever.. that'll make it look a lot better

thats what i saw, but they were saying it only improves it a little bit, im going to take a picture for you guys, its really appauling. even with these cables that supposdly correct the problem, they said the quality only improves slightly.

Component cables look a lot better. But yeah, get the ps3 and some quality HDMI cables and you'll have some great gaming.

I sell TV's at my part time job, and it's amazing how stupid people are. Pissed about the picture quality of their HD set when they are running basic cable into it.....no ****ing shit it's going to suck. 1800 dollar TV and then they want to run some ****ing 6 dollar RCA cables of of their 20 dollar DVD player.

yea, i mean im not an idiot...i kinda figured that it wouldnt work very well. i watched the game last night in HD it was amazing. and next monday, i will get to see my patriots play on monday night in HD, im so excited for that.

thats the one we got. i did a little more looking and i think ill order these HD cables for the PS2 they are only $20 so its not a HUGE loss if it doesnt work well.
HDTV Cables

Ok, I understand.

Ya, the current gen consoles suck on HDTVs.

I got an Xbox WITH THE COMPONENT CABLES, and it still looks like shit. So I can just immagine the PS2 with RCA cables. Expecially on a 52" TV. God, the jaggies feel like being stabbed in the eyes. Because of that, I pretty much stopped playing video games untill I get the 360 and the PS3.

PS- I love the HD shows. I just wish that all the TV stations were HD 24/7.

you know, unless its a sports game, im not impressed with the HD at all, it seems like with all the shit they put into a $5000 TV they forgot one thing, just showing whats on, i can barely watch any of the channells the arent HD and since we only have like 10-15 HD stations...it kinda sucks. i sorta miss the '32 incher that i could actually watch TV on and play Madden on.

the other channels look like shit compared to the HD channels.. i dont have an HD tv... just a regualr 30 inch... but i have HD channels and i watch those because the regular channels are fuzzy looking.. they are so clear in HD...

I cant wait to see WWE in HD.. hopefully its sweet.. my bro has a 60 inch hd tv..

how does regualr cable look on a 30? or non HDTV look on a 30? since this is a bigger TV, the thing that sucks is everything is stretched out, with a 30 id imagine a more consistant picture quality.

you could possibly attempt to run it in 4:3 mode when it's non HD programming/gaming. it will letterbox the sides, but stuff will be sampled at the right aspect ratio.

Well, not for me. Latest example. I was using the computer in the living room where the HDTV is, and I glanced at the HDTV. I saw my family was watching DANCING WITH THE STARS on the NORMAL channel. I was like, "Ok, but why don't you watch the show in HD" to my parents. When my dad switched the channels (from normal to HD), the difference in quality was  ! Seriously, the difference was awesome.

The sweat on Emmit Smith's big head was like it was dripping through the TV. It was awesome and sick at the same time. :chuckles:

so the day is getting closer, i want to get one, but i dont have the time to sit in line overnight to get one. whats everyone elses plans?

Mine is just like yours james, its still to early. Besides by the time there are a bunch of channels with hdtv there will be a better hd system. wait a little with the ps3, to damn expensive.

eh the price isnt that bad, $600 for a Blu Ray DVD player is cheap, you cant buy one for less then about $1000. i got one of the first shipments of the PS2 and it only lasted 2 years, then it broke, as did many peoples who had the first shipment and it all happened at the same time, the PS3 will probably be the same way, i want one because of the new TV we got, but if i spend $600 bucks on something, i want it to last a good 5 years.

oh yea, and if you are buying this to re-sell it, your the epitome of a low life.

My brother and me MIGHT go out and get one for each. But just to sell. I remember back in 1999 PS2's were selling 1,000+ on ebay that christmas. This year there are less consoles so there will be a bigger demand. So I might try and get one just to sell. Not a big fan of Playstation. I'm more of a Microsoft guy.

i dont understand the re-selling mentaility, your going to lose money if you have ajob by sitting outside on the pavment, to spend $600...even if you do get $1700-2000 thats a $1000 profit...add up the time you would miss from work, and it is less then that. put that $600 and put it in a mutual fund, it will have more long term affects then re-selling something and ripping the people who really do want one off.
