Anyone get a PS3 pre-order?

i dont understand the re-selling mentaility, your going to lose money if you have ajob by sitting outside on the pavment, to spend $600...even if you do get $1700-2000 thats a $1000 profit...add up the time you would miss from work, and it is less then that. put that $600 and put it in a mutual fund, it will have more long term affects then re-selling something and ripping the people who really do want one off.

It takes a lot of people at least 1.5-2 weeks to earn 1000 dollars worth of cash working at their fulltime job. Some people even up to a month working full time. So if you wanted to deal with it bad enough, waiting 2 days in line and making around a 1000 dollar profit is a very good deal for a lot of people along the poorer economic level.

Although the idea is right on, the figures are a bit overstated in some areas.

Yes, but if you have 660(say after taxes) and spend 48 hours in line and net a profit of 1000 dollars, you're looking at roughly making 20 dollars an hour for your time. If you just did a preorder with gamestop, you probably make 1000 bucks for 2 hours of work. You can't make that kind of money unless you sell drugs or something.

i just saw on fox 8 news that people were in line on tuesday at best buy.. they got tents set up with big screen tvs... a lot of people got interviewed and said they are selling them on ebay... even a 12 year old kid said that, and his mom was paying for it..

on ebay there was a ps3 on there already selling for 3gs..

Dude, every country has major problems.

For example: In Japan, they don't have enough room to store a dresser in their bedrooms. And they want to go out and get the PS3 which is bigger and havier than the first Xbox. Now you tell me that that isn't f'ed up. :chuckles:

Point being, is that people will do anything to be in a state of happiness. Even if that state is very temporary. Working makes people agravated. Getting a new console to play for 24 hours straight makes them happy.

My friend tries to get one.. Stayed upa ll night and was negative.. lol thats great. I guess people were camping and shit. I would only do that to sell it, Wouldn't waste a night of my life and $600 just for a PS3.

Well if you are selling for like 5 grand then you the 2% which is only about 100 dollars. Which the system only cost u 600. You still make a crap load of money

i also just heard that on the news ebay is only going to let reputable sellers sell this so there isnt fraud, this is getting crazy. i will have mine before January 1st, thats pretty much guarenteed, but ill never support some ass clown who is trying to resell it.
