CJ Miles & The Cavs Option

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm sorry Miles haters but this dude has singlehandedly brought us back in numerous games, once the kid gets on a roll he doesn't stop. A lot more than you can say than a lot of back up guards

True. The antithesis of a team-player tho. Knicks have Melo, he's a star!

Knicks will never win jack shit kid, remember that. Talent doesn't matter, team matters.

I understand, but CJ Miles isn't the best player on our team.

Like Mo Speights, CJ Miles can shoot a team back into a game. Unfortunately, both CJ and Mo are just as likely to shoot a team out of a game when they go cold. Add in the fact that neither are particularly respected for their ability to play consistant team defense & their sulking when they get yanked from games, and you've got a lot of excitement on a bad team, but a fringe rotation guy on a good team.

Depends on what you value. I really value a guy who can sub in, when are team is doing jack shit offensively and bring us back, as he has done many times.

People get excited. Look, he is gonna continue being what he is. The basket isn't moving, he knows what general area to shoot in to score a basket---- nothing has changed... His game has not improved or expanded...

Talent absolutely matters: our Cleveland teams with Lebron (particularly the Ben Wallace/Mo/West team) had terrific chemistry. I'd say they they played great team ball and "looked" like they enjoyed playing together more then the current Heat team. I'd take the current Miami team over them in a heartbeat though just because they have Wade and Bosh.

When I saw all that liquid on the floor, my first response was "OMFG, it's his eye!!!"

Hope he's better soon.

Yeah I thought it was gonna be a lot worse than a cut.

I still don't understand how a relatively blunt object like an elbow/forearm can cause a cut like that, unless his nails got in there to cut him.

You have to figure that with enough pressure being applied to a small area, something's going to give. Think about boxers and the cuts they get around their eyes.

The Cavs own a team option on swingman C.J. Miles' $2 million contract for next season. It's not cut-and-dry that they pick it up, like once thought.

My thoughts are that the Cavs won't make a decision until after draft night. The Cavs might need to put CJ's contract in a trade & they can do that if they pick up his option.

Cavs might also keep CJ if they don't draft a wing that's ready for NBA minutes, they don't make an offer to Casspi, and they don't think they can do better in the free agent market this summer. Seems like a long shot. I can't imagine Chucky Jumpers is a Mike Brown type player.

Send him to Los Angeles, they could certainly talk themselves into it.

Can never have too many shooters, and he's not too bad on defense either. If Mike Brown can convince him that he's a roleplayer, not a first or second option, then he's a useful guy.

He's a chucker. He chucks too much. He will chuck, no matter what Mike Brown says.

Time to let go.

Well, we have to play someone at SF, and he's miles (pun intended) ahead of Gee. He was arguably our fourth best player last year after Irving, Thompson and Waiters. 2M isn't much of a gamble...if he's not willing to play within the offense, just bench him.
