Dwyane Wade Safari

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We said the same shit about LeBron.

These guys live in their own world, and don't stop to even think about this stuff.

Yeah but he did go anywhere yet... We were on Bron the moment he left. They should be pissed at Riley, However to contend they kinda do not need Wade anymore. Odd situation there but I love it!

So Wade, Love, L.A, and Boogie all really want to go to L.A according to almost every national media reporter. So forget about any of these threads and safaris seeing as they all want to go play for a losing lottery team with one legged Kobe. No really though Wades trolling is child play compared to the tweets I am seeing.
Everyone wants to go to LA every off season. That's why they were able to get Boozer...

Seriously, that is all this is. A bunch of people with no clue making shit up. If it's not Woj, it's false. Love spent 6 miserable years on a lotto team, then he finally gets a taste of the playoffs, gets injured, his team missing him makes the finals, the teams second best guy hets hurt, the Cavs go up 2-1, and then lose. Yes clearly LA is the good choice lol.

Uh his best friend, who clearly changed his behavior since then it happened 6 years ago. They probably talk and grow as people together. I'm betting they've had a few conversations since 2010

Is this serious?

No, it's not serious. No need to take it so serious :chuckle::chuckle:

Cleveland proved capable of far worse. What was worse than the fact that the "We are LeBron" video was done was the bar set for "Cleveland's finest," in the video.

Sidenote: I know for a fact that @Maximus was featured prominently in the video. See if you can figure out which one he was.

Dude...not cool...i told you that in confidence.

On topic - At this point the front office considers this a pure leverage play by Wade. Not really considering it a possibility at the moment. We would have no interest in paying him anywhere near max money...huge durability concerns. Cavs not nearly excited about Wade as the fans here, especially after the way injuries torpedoed our season. But if Riley calls Wade's bluff and Lebron wants him, things obviously change.

Well, there really shouldn't be any question about the bolded, should there?

It is incredibly depressing to me that even though the front office is not high on him and has huge durability concerns, all that goes out the window if LBJ wants him here.

If LeBron wants him here... lol.. hmmm.. lemme think about that for a second..

But, good lookin' out @Maximus for the heads up. Gives us better insight on what the front office is thinking.

Why? Michael didn't have pull? Magic?

edit:

1. I don't think he ends up here

2. Its not as if LeBron is advocating us trading Kyrie, Love, Mozgov or TT for him. If he's advocating anything at all, its just that we reach out and explore options to see if a deal is even possible. No harm in that and he has earned his right in the NBA and in this organization to yield that type of suggestive power as long as it does't become irrational demand vs. just suggestion of due diligence on a player he knows well

Keep in mind this is the guy who single-handedly took Cavs to the Finals and we were 2 games away (hell, one travel call away) from a ring.

I agree, I mean I don't think its always ideal, but it beats the alternative of doing this without LeBron.

LeBron has leverage with us, and it is what it is. If he stops producing at a high level, then we can start to question whether we should keep doing this.

is it bad I really question the fact that Justise Winslow can make that much of an impact on the Miami Heat?

Their fans are already speculating that the guy can make them a top 3 team in the NBA

I just don't see it. I mean, maybe...maybe...maybe if he was a circa 2003 level Wade/Melo/LeBron talent, 1980 Magic Johnson-type

Yea, didn't you hear?
Justise Winslow is the next Lebron James

Re:what I'm talking about.

"Top 3 easily

I would say top 2 but I keep remembering Indiana who should once again be a force to contend with"

Uh...Wizards? Raptors? Bulls? Hawks?

"Well, we still have to survive free agency, but if we can keep Dragic & Wade, I see us in the top 6. Keep Deng and we might be in the top 4. Several teams will be better next year."

Why? Michael didn't have pull? Magic?[

Sure. When MJ suggested that it would be good to get a low-cost role player like Steve Kerr, the Bulls agreed. Wade is not a low-cost role player like Steve Kerr, though. He would be a major acquisition that would have huge ramifications up and down the roster.

I'm putting this in the context of Max' specific remark. That the Cavs have no real interest in paying Wade anything near max money, have "huge durability concerns", and are "not nearly as excited about Wade as the fans here, particularly after injuries derailed our season." Doesn't sound to me like the Cavs are exactly neutral about him.

Dwayne Wade is not some relatively unknown or minor role player about whom the Cavs would be just kicking the tires at LBJ's request, and would come at little cost. He's as known a quantity as any player in the league, and the Cavs (again, according to Max) already have evaluated his potential worth to the team. It's the apparent willingness to overlook what they think about the guy that I find depressing.

But if all that would "obviously change" just because LBJ asks for Wade, then yeah, I see that as a problem. Now if we're talking about some bizarre scenario where Wade just agrees to come here for the MLE or something, that may be different. But I don't think that's really within the realm of reasonable possibility.

And just to emphasize, whether or not you agree with the Cavs evaluation of Wade isn't the point. The point is that they already have made their evaluation., and shouldn't toss that out the window just because he's LBJ's bud.

LBJ is the world's greatest player, and maybe he's also a good evaluator of talent. I remember he was a huge fan of Steph Curry at the draft, and he turned out to be right.

But I question his judgment more when it comes to personnel decisions that affect him as a player. He apparently pushed for very hard for Love in particular, yet I don't think anyone would argue that relationship has been as synergistic as LBJ might have hoped. I suspect he's a bit of a prisoner of his own perspective in that regard -- he wants guys who he thinks will help his game, but is a bit blind to seeing how well that player's game will mesh within the overall team. He also has shown that he's just as susceptible to biases based on friendship as anyone else, which I think was an issue with Boobie, and is probably showing up with respect to his "shooting coach" Damon Jones as well.

I'd just prefer that the Cavs stick to their own judgment when it comes to major player acquisitions.
