Eww. Victor is a Red Sock.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I miss VMart already. I feel like buying his Indians jersey before they stop selling them. This sucks. Trading Cliff Lee was bad but dealing VMart sucks.

We got Justin Masterson, Nick Hagadone and Bryan Price. Three good pitching prospects.

Same deal though, the Phillies and Red Sox are being praised for their good dealing and the writers are trying to be nice calling the Indians "rebuilding" and that we got some "nice prospects".

But then they quickly reemphasize how we were unable to get their best prospects and we just single handedly created the two world series favorites in back to back days.

hahahaha yeah my thoughts exactly

Masterson really is nothing special guys. Hagadone might be, but he has already had Tommy John :chuckles:

Really not a good trade for us IMO...a solid trade for Boston but not amazing unless they are catching Victor

for all the people throwing Shapiro under the bus... if with this payroll he can build a contender every 4-5 years, he is a genius. With baseball economics and the fickle nature of success in the MLB, you need to spend, spend, spend to be competitive for an extended period.

or you can play your cards smartly, have an eye for talent and get your small market team to contention with some regularity. that's no small achievement.

Wow....brutal report on those pitchers. Two A ball pitchers? and a mediocre prospect in Masterson????

When I was looking up who these players were, I read in a scouting report that Hagadone had actually reached 3-digit speed after the tommy john surgery. I'll try and find it but damn I hope its true.

To be fair, Hagadone is being compared to David Price by experts...so, it's not like they are completely devoid of talent.

I guess if you were expect Buchholz, this trade is a little bit of a downer...however, I really like Masterson, much more than a mediocre prospect, IMO.

I did NOT want Buchholz...not really, at least. I wouldn't be pissed off if we'd gotten him but I was of the "Clay is overrated" crowd.

I heard the Hagadone being compared to David Price, which is neat I guess, and I just read he has ace potential, but also that he's an unknown entity because of the Tommy John. So who knows?

The only problem with him right now is that he walks too many people...but on the other hand, he strikes people out and misses bats, so it's certainly a good start.

Let's put it this way, the organization has never had this much potential at one time to work with as far as pitchers go. If one of Knapp or Hagadone pan out along with one of Masterson and Carrasco, they have a legit one-two punch, if Carmona never regains his control.

Well Fausto is pitching right now. Let's go watch him get lit up.

Im going to boston august 10 for red sox game, ill get to see him play once more this year.

I'm gonna be sick.

This is the trade that has stung the most.

Victor is a guy who would have stayed here. He would have been an Indian for life.

The Tribe just lost me as a fan until the team is sold.
