You can't replace him or JR. Someone wanted to go to Shump instead. Can't we just need these guys to play better. Otherwise we can't beat GS, and replacing their minutes is not the solution.

I am more worried about JR than Korver. Korver's lack of scoring output has been by design, more than anything.

JR just seems not the same. Even though he's averaged only 6 a game he has shot the ball.

But we need JR the gunslinger more now. He'll take some bad shots, but if he gets hot, we are just a different team. I gotta think eventually he'll break though with a big performance, but it seems forever since he has.

JR got his contract and hasn't been the same. I will give him a break though- he had an injury and the ordeal with his kid is beyond stressful.
In the moment, he's not getting it done. In the long term, he's the guy that hit three 3's in game 7 of the 2016 finals and helped deliver a championship to Cleveland. For that, he'll always be good in my book.

Korver and Deron looked shaken to me. Both made uncharacteristic mistakes and seemed rushed. Probably first-time Finals nerves. Hopefully they bounce back going forward. Cavs have no chance without these guys making some contributions.

It's disheartening how little we got from all of our role players. And none of them were lightening it up in the Boston series either.

Which is the real issue at heart.

I can't think it will continue. But frankly, some of them can't even be just average.

We are going to need some anomaly performances from Korver, JR, or Deron. It doesn't have to be all of them each game. But one of them is going to have to take turns in having some 12-20 performances (not every game)...

We just can't rely on 3 guys, and have some of them chip in here and there every now and then.

3 points from JR and Korver combined though can never happen again. That's just not a way we're going to win with that production from them.

Korver is sick (said it in interview the other day)

Korver and DWill are Finals rookies (DWill also recently sick)

Warriors are switching out on pin downs, pretty sure Lue said, and doing it well. This takes away clean looks from Korver.

Korver had 3-4 looks where there wasnt a guy within 7 feet of him and missed them all. Inexcusable for a shooter of his caliber no matter the circumstances.

Cavaliers use essentially one screen for Korver and when that breaks down they will kick it out to the top of the key where they look for late shot clock isolation--- Warriors use multiple screens to find multiple looks....

I can see someone like Korver pressuring his looks based on the lack of quality looks (in fact I've seen the Cavs utilize such strategy against him in the past).... He's pretty useless cause he's game planned for as a specialist (same with Frye and his light screens)..... Whereas guys like Iggy can push-- McGee can rim protect and rebound and finish and West can post, finish, cut, and screen set.....

Korver is a bench player and should be viewed as such....however he's limited to running off screens and catching and shooting and if you're in tune as a defense that's pretty easy to defend against.... Cavs have done it against a supierior player in Klay Thompson in the past (and he's far more dynamic)

I'll write Korver's performance off as a case of first finals game jitters. Korver has choked before when the Cavs game planned against him when we met the Hawks in the playoffs.

We do need to run better actions for him to get him some shots in rhythm.

Korver and Deron are known playoff chokers

Was hoping they'd change not being the main options for their team. Hopefully they turn it around

Not sure this is really fair. For Kyle, he was pretty heavily game planned against as a shooter in the playoffs without a ton of other options on his team, and for Deron, it seems flat out inaccurate. Deron's worst playoff averages from his first 5 playoff appearances was 19.2/8.6, and he had three straight years in the playoffs averaging 20+/10+. Once he got disinterested/lazy, his performance suffered after the first year in BKN, but he performed quite well in the prime of his career.

Well did anyone seriously think a roleplayer like Korver was going to light up the finals. The playoffs is often where shooters come to lose their touch. See how Ryan Anderson who lit it up all season all of a sudden lost his touch for the Rockets. I blame us for not going after players who could find other ways to contribute when their shots aren't falling. That lineup with Korver, JR and Love, Kyrie towards the end was just the worst to stop Durant. Too bad it was the lesser of two evils (Shumpert and TT)

Hopefully the management and fans can stop this obsession with fielding these so called 'unguardable' lineups loaded with poor defenders and limited skill players

That 1st round pick sounds like water in the desert right about now. .

Yeah, teams like spurs and warriors have so many ball handlers. It's why they're so dominant every year.
