Game Thread | Game #10 | Cavs @ Clippers | Nov. 7, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What did you watch?

Literally the first quote from his interview last night: "We just got to execute, take care of the ball. I had a couple turnovers, I missed a free throw that was short. Execution and getting stops is the main thing, and that's what we have to work on".

And then at the end of the interview again takes individual responsibility for what happened at the end of the game and to look over what just happened and improve.

You guys are just making shit up now.
Ah this makes sense.

You missed the part where he said, “Why should I live in history, huh? I don’t want to know anything anymore. This is a world where nothing is solved. Someone once told me time is a flat circle. Everything we’ve ever done or will do we’re going to do over and over and over again. And Donovan and I and Evan are gonna be on that court again and again and again…forever.”

And then everyone clapped.

If the Clippers get a healthy Kawhi Leonard back I don't know who is going to beat them. We had a chance to steal a win with Kawhi out and John Wall resting and threw it away.

Hope whatever lessons were learned was worth it.

The Clippers ramped up the defensive intensity in the final minutes and the Cavs had no answer.

Really liked Allen's 20 rebounds. Mobley had 26 points and 8 rebounds but was a -20 and fouled out. The next lowest Cavalier was -5. I'm not sure what to make of that.

The Cavs should never have let it get close enough at the end for the refs to make a difference.

That had to be the poorest managed rotation I’ve seen from JB for about 3 years. I think Love played 12 plus minutes straight. He even signaled to the bench he was tired. He misses 2 3’s short late in the 4th quarter. Duh JB. His legs were gone. Same thing for everyone else playing the whole 4th. That loss straight to the coach.

That’s reassuring. I will be even more reassured if they run the Kings out of the gym.

Not expecting a win over the Dubs, but an unexpected win would boost my mood CONSIDERABLY.

I agree Coach. He needs a damn stop clock.

Easy to lose track of such things when you’re busy mean mugging refs and costing your team calls at the end of the game.

I’m packing up for next season.

We can’t win in the playoffs with the coach, the PG, the starting SF, and a part time player.

Nothing left to root for, those issues are just too deep.

I know what you are doing here, but doesnt look like a total meltdown on here, it was a bad loss because we were up so much with 5 minutes to go, but on the road and we ran out of gas it happens.

But still 2nd best record in NBA, still playing awesome...time to vote and then watch tomorrow in Sac.

A bit surprised at what appears to be an overreaction here. Frustrating and poor to lose it from that position, but fatigue on a back to back, a bit of complacency and allowing the refs to get in their head are elements they are going to have to learn to deal with if they want to be a contending group, and that goes for coaches and players.

The record has been excellent this season, but 3 OT wins have helped flatter the performance level somewhat. Mobley and Allen have both been somewhat erratic and while Mitchell has been terrific I don't think he and Garland have quite found their connection just it. That tells me there is a ton more to come, and a frustrating loss at this stage could push them to keep improving.

If you’re 8-2 but haven’t clicked yet, with a lot to work and improve on, that’s a great place to be. If they lose to the Warriors but beat the kings and end up 3-2 on the road trip and 9-3 overall, still a great place to be, especially considering DG will have only played 4 games.

Don’t take how good this team is for granted because you follow every single possession in game threads. Good teams lose sometimes.

Love was a +25 for the night and Mobley was a -20 and in foul trouble. Love was playing so well that JBB tried to squeeze a few more productive minutes out of him.

Okay, I think I've resigned myself to the unnecessary loss. It reminds me a lot of the Toronto loss: on the road, 4th quarter lead, blown in the last few minutes. This seems like a young team problem.

We should learn some lessons from this game.

I don't usually go over our individual stats when we lose, but we played well enough to win, so I will.

Starters:
LeVert 4-6-5 in 36 minutes, most of it spent defending George.
Mobley 26-8-1 in 34 minutes. A great offensive game. He also caused players to pass when he defended them.
Allen 10-20-3 with 2 steals and 2 blocks in 33 minutes Great game, but was only 4-10. Missed some close shots at the rim. May have been fouled.
Mitchell 30-1-2 in 38 minutes. 10-15 fg, 8-11 from 3. He should have had 5-10 more shots.
Garland 19-1-12 with a steal in 38 minutes. Only 2-9 from 3, 1-3 from FT line. He looked tired in the 4th quarter.

Bench: 28-12-6 in 25 minutes. Kind of average, for us. I would have played Cedi more, Wade more. LeVert less.
Wade 6-1-0 with a steal in 14 minutes.
Love 17-8-4 with a steal in 25 minutes 6MOTY performance.
Osman 2-0-0 in 3 minutes. Is he in the doghouse?
Okoro 3-3-2 with a steal in 17 minutes.
