Game Thread | Game #19 | Cavs @ Bucks | Nov. 25, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
True, but Brown/Tatum/Wiliams aren't the x-factor that Giannis is. I feel you can game-plan against the former 3 but there is no way to game-plan what Giannis brings. You can force him to shoot 3s, sure, but he's too freakishly athletic to keep him out of the paint. Put 3 bodies there and he can still snake his way to the basket. It's going to end in free throws for Giannis or an open 3 to someone on Milwaukee.

Doesn’t have the x-factor? Tatum’s 24 and he just took his team to the Finals. He was ECF MVP and 1st Team All-NBA. If Tatum doesn’t have the juice then I don’t know who does. Averaging 30 / 8 / 5 right now. His best basketball is still ahead of him.

To be quite honest, I think with both teams healthy Boston probably bears us 4-1 in a series this year.

People keep getting upset at Mobley being soft but man it's Jarrett Allen that keeps going down with every little nick and knack type of injury you can think of...ankle here, hip there......
Mobley’s not soft. He just lacks offensive and rebounding skills

You read the board about who can and can't be the best player on a Title team and you realize the board thinks like 3 guys qualify.

I would even disagree there, somewhat. We’ve seen the Cavs use that other gear. Not tonight though.

I definitely agree that the regular season results don't matter come playoff time (other than for home court advantage). But IMO the Bucks have a different level they can get to that we lack. I think it's experience related, though, not talent.

It's hard to say. Maybe if the season ended today, yeah. But it's a long season. Sometime you peak at the right time - sometimes too early.

I do know one thing - "both teams healthy" doesn't exist in today's NBA. If both teams healthy was a thing, Giannis is still trying to get his first ring. Or maybe he got it by now, but in 2022, not 2021.

Giannis, Wemby, and ... Harrison Barnes?

Oh don’t get it twisted….he’s soft! He gets in the key and at the first sign of contact he dribbles away from the basket or passes the ball out!

That's not what I said.

Golden State is probably on like title 7 in a row. Or...6, cause they don't win the first one.

It's why the teams with the absolute best of the best players have the advantage. Because they can have other guys hurt and still go win a title.

Cavs legitimately can't miss any of their 4 players and compete even for a conference Finals spot this year. That's rough.

I'm gonna tell you guys something and it goes against the grain of the entire spirit of the board and these threads in particular.

You make WAY too much out of each and every regular season matchup.

You look at the season in a holistic approach. But you can lose to the Bucks twice and it mean absolutely nothing at all in the postseason. Just like Boston can lose to the Cavs twice and it mean nothing. Just like the Bucks can lose to the Hawks twice and it mean nothing.

I know that having that mentality can sorta suck the joy and agony out of the regular season games individually, but it's just reality.

We’re trying to gauge how good we are and games like this say something. When you’ve already seen your team go deep in the playoffs and know how good you are then you can shrug off regular season ups and downs (like in the Lebron era where I thought people way overreacted to regular season games and we took a blowtorch to the Eastern Conference playoffs every year we had Lebron and Kyrie).

Here we’re trying to figure out whether we’re actually a top eastern conference team or not. Having the Bucks lay you out like the 6th grade playing the 5th grade in school as soon as they get serious says some thing about that.

Mitchell, Mobley, and Garland LOL

That's not what I said.

Fair, well I mean all you have to look at is the Celtics beating the Middleton-less Bucks in the playoffs last year. This team is not anywhere near capable of that this year as we’ve seen.

yup. When the #2 on offense goes down (Middletown for GA, Kyrie for LBJ, etc), it can be rough. But aside from that, they can get through it. The Cavs have four guys who can't get hurt for this team to even beat Atlanta in a second round series.

A 35-10 quarter? WOOF.

What the hell happened?

Doesn’t look like JBB’s halftime speech worked very well…
